WHO WE ARE

Warriors Heart is the first private residential treatment program in the United States built exclusively for veterans, active-duty military, and first responders. Founded by warriors for warriors, we hold DBHDS licensure and Joint Commission accreditation, and we take both seriously. Our clinical model integrates trauma-informed care, co-occurring disorder treatment, 12-step principles, and evidence-based therapeutic modalities in a setting designed for warrior culture. Our residents come to us carrying the full weight of service, trauma, and addiction. The clinicians who do their best work here are those who see that weight clearly, hold space for it without flinching, and believe that healing is possible for every person who walks through the door.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Carry an assigned residential caseload of up to ten (10) clients and serve as each warrior's primary mental health clinician. Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, develop integrated dual diagnosis treatment plans, and coordinate individualized discharge and aftercare plans. Provide a minimum of one individual therapy session and one small caseload group session per week per client, utilizing evidence-based modalities including CBT, DBT, ACT, Motivational Interviewing, and trauma-focused approaches such as EMDR, CPT, and ART. Facilitate assigned group therapy sessions weekly, including process groups, psychoeducation, trauma-informed groups, and life skills programming. Maintain clinical contact with clients' family members and loved ones (with signed release) and provide psychoeducation and collateral support. Attend and actively contribute to weekly multidisciplinary Treatment Team meetings, providing clinical insight and progress updates for each client on your caseload. Complete all required documentation accurately and within policy timeframes, including biopsychosocial assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries, in the Warriors Heart EHR platform. Conduct risk assessments and develop safety plans when clinically indicated; follow Warriors Heart crisis protocols. Engage in individualized discharge and aftercare planning beginning early in the treatment episode. Provide rotating on-call availability for clients during off-hours. Requirements to include but not limited to: Master's degree in clinical mental health counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy, or a related behavioral health field. Active, unrestricted Virginia licensure as an LPC, LCSW, LMFT, Resident in counseling, or doctoral-level licensure (Ph.D. or Psy.

D.). Consideration will be given to candidates in a board-approved residency supervisee status. Demonstrated experience treating co-occurring disorders including both substance use and mental health conditions. Ability to pass an annual background clearance and random drug and alcohol screenings.
