What You'll Do As an Adult Outpatient Clinician, you'll provide comprehensive outpatient behavioral health services while helping clients identify their goals, address barriers, and work toward greater stability and recovery.

Responsibilities include:

Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial needs assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and risk screenings. Provide individual and group therapy using evidence-based and best-practice interventions. Complete substance use screenings and assessments using American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) criteria and other appropriate screening tools. Develop, implement, monitor, and update individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients. Provide crisis intervention and safety planning and coordinate with emergency or crisis services when needed. Coordinate care with psychiatric services, primary care providers, case management, substance use programs, and community partners. Connect clients with internal programs, external providers, and other behavioral health, medical, and social supports based on their individual needs. Support continuity of care during transitions such as hospitalization, movement to a higher level of care, and discharge. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, case consultations, supervision, peer review, training, and quality improvement activities. Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation in the electronic health record in accordance with DBHDS, Medicaid, HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and agency requirements . Minimum Qualifications Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related human services field. Licensed or license-eligible through the Virginia Department of Health Professions , including LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LCP, or applicable Resident/Supervisee status. Ability to meet Medicaid and DBHDS documentation and service delivery requirements. Ability to work effectively with adults experiencing serious mental illness and/or substance use disorders.

Active professional licensure as an LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or LCP in Virginia. Certified Substance Abuse Counselor ( CSAC ) credential. Experience providing community-based behavioral health services to adults. Experience working with individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
