Job Summary Under limited direction, employee is responsible for providing direct therapeutic services, case management services and crisis intervention services to mental health, intellectucutal disability, and substance abuse individuals. Therapeutic Services may include conducting individual, family, marital and/or group therapy sessions Additional therapeutic Services may include completing Comprehensive Needs Assessments. Case management services include client identification, assessments, consultative services regarding community resources, as well as liaison activities with local hospital emergency rooms. Crisis intervention/case management services include client identification, assessment, planning, implementing and monitoring service plans, and advocacy and resource development. Employee consults regularly with other staff members and supervisors; participates in scheduled meetings, seminars, and in-service training sessions. Employee must exercise tact and courtesy in contact with staff, clients, families, public, and service providers. Reports to the Mental Health Outpatient Coordinator. Job Responsibilities Provides direct services to mental health, intellectual disability and substance abuse individual through individual, marital, family and group therapy. Services to include client identification, comprehensive needs assessment, planning, implementing and monitoring service plans, and advocacy and resource development. Develops, implements and monitors treatment plans comprised of counseling interventions specifically designed to meet each individual client's needs. Provides additional case management services, such as coordinating in-patient discharge planning, assisting clients in connecting to natural and professional resources for support to relieve/prevent crises as relates to family preservation and support services. Serves on agency insurance panels; completes applications to become paid provider as needed and in a timely manner; is familiar and proficient with the completion of required and routine insurance paperwork. Maintains a cooperative working relationship with community partnering agencies to include but not limited Courts, departments of social services, schools, public health, and other public and private agencies. Maintains complete, accurate, and current clinical documentation and records; performs routine office filing; Performs self and peer audits to ensure documentation is up to date; receives and answers general correspondence and inquiries. Works a schedule determined by client needs which may include more than one evening per week. Offers consultative services regarding mental health and substance abuse issues to referrals and the general public. Prepares reports, written evaluations, discharge summaries, and other documents to provide history, recommendations, and other information. Attends staff meetings, training sessions, and seminars. Participates in the training of new staff; makes informational presentations to staff and community organizations as requested. Complete 16 hours of Trauma Training within the first year of employment, followed by 8 hours annually for a total of 40 hours. Other Duties, as assigned Job Requirements Essential Must pass all required Background Checks. Must possess a valid Virginia Driver's License with reliable transportation and driving record acceptable to agency insurance carrier. Must obtain a TB test with satisfactory results within 30 days of employment, and yearly thereafter as required by licensing authority

Education and Experience Master's Degree in Human Services, Social Work, or Psychology, or Behavioral Health; licensed eligible to provide services within the Commonwealth of Virginia (0 to 4 years) with experience in counseling, program administration, and case management. Must possess and maintain a current LMHP-E; and be in the process of becoming licensed.
