We provide a full continuum of services, including Individual and Family Therapy, Case Management, OhioRISE, School-Based Services, CPST, Peer Support, and Substance Use Disorder Counseling. About the Role We are hiring Mental Health Interns on the Social Work in Training track to be embedded directly in school settings for the upcoming school year and beyond. This is a year-round position, which means you will be present through the full school calendar and continue working through summers. You will serve as a consistent, trusted support for students navigating mental health challenges, often at some of the most critical moments in their development. What You Will Do Provide school-based mental health support to students through direct service, case coordination, and ongoing relationship-building Conduct screenings, assessments, and individualized service planning under clinical supervision Collaborate with teachers, school administrators, families, and community providers to create wraparound support for students Deliver CPST and other community support services as assigned and within your scope Maintain accurate, timely documentation in compliance with agency and regulatory standards Participate in team meetings, supervision sessions, and ongoing professional development Build trusting relationships with students and families across diverse backgrounds and circumstances Support crisis intervention and safety planning as situations arise, with guidance from your clinical supervisor What We Are Looking For Current junior or senior enrolled in a social work, psychology, counseling, human services, or related undergraduate or graduate program, OR a recent graduate in one of these fields Genuine commitment to mental health equity and improving outcomes for young people Comfort working in a school environment and collaborating with educators and families Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport quickly with adolescents and their caregivers Ability to stay organized, manage documentation, and follow through on responsibilities Openness to supervision, feedback, and growth, especially early in your career Eligibility to obtain or current possession of a Social Worker in Training designation in Ohio (or willingness to pursue it) Why Upstar Real experience from day one. Schedule and Compensation Full-time, year-round position aligned with the school calendar, with continued employment through summer months. Compensation is competitive and based on experience.
