Hybrid, some on-site work required Reports to: Executive Director Position Summary The Behavioral Health Clinician provides comprehensive, culturally responsive mental health services to patients of our independent nonprofit clinic. Join a team that is mission-driven, queer-affirming, and committed to practicing in a unique community-centric setting. www.jglhc.org This role is responsible for clinical intake and assessment, diagnosing mental health disorders, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, and providing ongoing counseling and psychotherapy services. The clinician also conducts evaluations related to eligibility and readiness for gender-affirming medical and surgical care. This position requires demonstrated competence and experience in providing affirming, trauma-informed behavioral health services to sexual and gender minority populations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive behavioral health intakes and biopsychosocial assessments Diagnose mental health disorders in accordance with
DSM-5-TR
criteria Utilize appropriate psychological assessment instruments and clinical techniques aligned with diagnostic findings Develop, implement, and regularly update individualized treatment plans grounded in current psychological theory and evidence-based practice Provide individual counseling and psychotherapy services Complete assessments for eligibility and readiness for gender-affirming medical and surgical procedures, in alignment with applicable standards of care Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation within the electronic health record Collaborate with medical providers and interdisciplinary care teams to support coordinated, patient-centered care Provide services in a manner that is affirming, inclusive, trauma-informed, and respectful of diverse identities and lived experiences Adhere to all ethical, legal, and professional standards, including state licensure requirements and clinic policies Required Qualifications Master's degree or higher in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field Current licensure or willingness to obtain license(s) in the state(s) of practice;

Demonstrated training and experience providing clinical services to sexual minority populations and gender-diverse populations (including transgender and nonbinary individuals) Knowledge of gender-affirming care standards and best practices Preferred Qualifications Experience working in nonprofit, community health, or integrated healthcare settings Experience providing gender-affirming care assessments and letters of support Familiarity with trauma-informed and harm-reduction frameworks Work Environment & Physical Requirements Hybrid clinical office setting / remote Ability to use a computer and electronic health record system May include some evening hours based on clinic needs Credentialing and billing functions managed by employer • Employer paid health care premiums for employees with optional employee-paid enrollment for spouses / dependents Professional development / continuing education funds provided.
