Contract Position | $40.00-$45.00 per hour | Flexible Scheduling Join Our Community-Based Crisis Team Renewed Purpose Treatment Center, LLC (RPTC) is seeking experienced and compassionate QMHPs and QMHP-Ts to join our Mobile Crisis Response and Community Stabilization team. This position provides intensive, short-term behavioral health support to children, adolescents, and adults experiencing an acute mental health crisis. Services are delivered face-to-face in clients' homes, hospitals, and other community settings throughout the Hampton Roads/Tidewater region. QMHPs work collaboratively with Licensed Mental Health Professionals to promote immediate safety, reduce psychiatric deterioration, prevent unnecessary hospitalization, and connect individuals with ongoing treatment and community resources. Candidates must be comfortable traveling throughout the region and responding to individuals with serious mental illness, trauma histories, co-occurring substance use concerns, housing instability, and other psychosocial stressors. Primary Responsibilities Provide face-to-face Mobile Crisis Response and Community Stabilization interventions throughout the Hampton Roads/Tidewater region. Work alongside an LMHP to support crisis screenings, biopsychosocial assessments, and suicide or homicide risk evaluations. Provide immediate crisis intervention, de-escalation, emotional support, and safety-focused services. Assist individuals and families with identifying triggers, strengthening coping strategies, and developing practical crisis response plans. Implement individualized stabilization interventions under the clinical direction and oversight of an LMHP. Use trauma-informed, person-centered, motivational interviewing, and CBT-informed approaches when providing services. Deliver psychoeducation related to mental health symptoms, emotional regulation, relapse prevention, coping skills, and available community supports. Coordinate care with hospitals, Community Services Boards, managed care organizations, probation programs, primary care providers, psychiatric providers, and other community agencies. Support referrals and warm handoffs to outpatient therapy, medication management, Mental Health Skill-Building Services, case management, substance use treatment, and other appropriate services. Assist individuals with barriers involving housing, transportation, insurance, communication access, and limited natural supports. Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation that supports medical necessity and meets DMAS, DBHDS, HIPAA, and organizational requirements. Participate in daily staffing, case consultation, supervision, service coordination, and quality improvement activities. Maintain communication with the LMHP and treatment team regarding changes in risk, presentation, safety, or service needs. Support continuity of care and follow-up efforts intended to reduce repeated crisis episodes, emergency department use, and psychiatric hospitalization. Required Qualifications Current Virginia QMHP or QMHP-T registration or eligibility. Completion of the required Virginia Mobile Crisis Response training prior to applying. Bachelor's or master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or another qualifying behavioral health field. Ability and willingness to provide services throughout the entire Hampton Roads/Tidewater region. Reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and the ability to travel to community-based service locations. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, based on program and client needs. Ability to complete documentation accurately and within required timeframes. Preferred Experience Previous experience in crisis intervention, Community Stabilization, Mobile Crisis Response, acute behavioral health, or another community-based mental health program. Experience serving individuals with serious mental illness, trauma-related conditions, co-occurring substance use disorders, or complex psychosocial needs. Familiarity with Virginia Medicaid, DMAS, DBHDS, service authorization, and behavioral health documentation requirements. Experience coordinating care with hospitals, CSBs, probation departments, managed care organizations, and community treatment providers. Skills and Professional Expectations Strong crisis intervention and de-escalation abilities. Ability to remain calm, professional, and solution-focused during high-stress situations. Sound judgment and the ability to seek LMHP consultation when concerns fall outside the QMHP's scope of practice. Strong written communication and clinical documentation skills. Effective use of person-centered engagement and motivational interviewing. Understanding of trauma-informed and recovery-oriented practices. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Professionalism, empathy, cultural responsiveness, and respect for individuals from diverse backgrounds.
