Job Description

Position Summary The Elementary Group Leader is responsible for creating a safe, welcoming, and fun environment for our youngest students. This person will supervise children throughout the afternoon, help with homework, lead age-appropriate activities, and provide encouragement and support as children learn and grow. Responsibilities Supervise children at all times and maintain a safe environment. Welcome children and help them transition from school into the program. Assist with homework and school assignments Lead crafts, games, reading activities, and other age-appropriate activities. Participate in outdoor play and recreation. Help children follow daily routines and program expectations. Encourage kindness, respect, sharing, and positive behavior. Communicate concerns about a child's behavior, safety, or well-being to the Program Director. Maintain appropriate communication with parents and guardians. Keep the group's area clean and organized. Follow all program policies and safety procedures. Attend required staff meetings and training. Work cooperatively with the other Group Leader assigned to the group. Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old. Experience working with children is preferred. Must be dependable and responsible. Must be patient, caring, and comfortable working with young children. Must be able to communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff. Must meet all applicable Alabama/DHR background-check and employment requirements. Physical Requirements The position may require standing, walking, bending, lifting supplies, participating in activities, and assisting children as needed. The Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with children and understands that the little things matter. Our Group Leaders should be patient, encouraging, dependable, and willing to make each child feel seen and valued.
Pay:
From $15.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 per week
