Job Summary Nanny, Mother's Helper & Child Transportation Driver Full-Time and Flexible Opportunities |
Optional Paid Driving Pay:
$20-$30 per hour, depending on assignment Driving assignments: Additional transportation or mileage reimbursement may apply Pups & Tots Village | Village One Ride East Bay, California Job Overview Pups & Tots Village and Village One Ride are hiring dependable, caring, and safety-minded individuals to support children and families throughout Dublin, Pleasanton, Livermore, San Ramon, Danville, Tracy, and nearby communities. We offer several types of work: Full-time nanny placements Flexible nanny and Mother's Helper assignments Nanny on Wheels assignments combining childcare and driving Transportation-only routes before, between, or after childcare assignments Applicants may opt into one or multiple services based on their qualifications, interests, and availability. Hour Nanny Placement:
$20/hour with 40 guaranteed hours per week 35-
Hour Nanny Placement:
$22/hour with 35 guaranteed hours per week
Mother's Helper:
$27/hour, generally scheduled in three-hour blocks Nanny on
Wheels:
$30/hour, generally scheduled in three-hour blocks that include childcare and driving responsibilities Nanny on Wheels caregivers may also receive applicable transportation reimbursement when driving is required, based on the assignment's distance and terms. Guaranteed hours apply only to designated 35-hour and 40-hour nanny placements. Flexible assignments are offered based on family needs, caregiver availability, location, and fit. Transportation-Only Assignments Caregivers who complete the required driver onboarding may also accept pre-scheduled school and child transportation routes through Village One Ride.
Morning routes:
$22/hour base pay plus IRS mileage reimbursement Afternoon routes: $20/hour base pay plus IRS mileage reimbursement Morning route window: Approximately 6:45 AM-9:30 AM Afternoon/evening route window: Approximately 12:30 PM-7:00 PM You do not need to be available for the entire window. Routes are matched based on family needs, your availability, location, route fit, and distance flexibility. Depending on route distance and flexibility, total effective driving compensation may reach approximately $20-$30+ per hour when mileage reimbursement is included. Mileage reimbursement is not a guaranteed flat hourly wage. We are currently prioritizing applicants who can consistently support morning routes. Build a Schedule That Works for You Applicants may choose one service or combine multiple services to create a fuller workday. For example, a caregiver may: Complete a morning school transportation route Provide nanny or Mother's Helper support during the day Complete an afternoon transportation route You may also accept transportation-only routes during openings between your childcare assignments. You do not have to provide Nanny on Wheels care to accept transportation-only work. The more services, locations, schedule windows, and driving distances you are qualified and available to support, the more opportunities we may be able to offer. Opting into additional services may increase your potential hours and earnings but does not guarantee a specific number of assignments or hours. Applicants may also choose to work in only one service area. Working Across Multiple Services Applicants who opt into multiple services should be comfortable transitioning between childcare and transportation responsibilities throughout the day. Combined schedules can be fast-paced and may require: Moving between different families, locations, and responsibilities Closely monitoring your daily schedule and assignment updates Responding promptly to the Operations team Managing travel and transition time carefully Adapting to reasonable schedule or route adjustments within your stated availability Remaining calm, organized, and professional when the day becomes busy We work to provide schedules in advance. However, family needs, school schedules, traffic, cancellations, and route coordination can sometimes require daily adjustments. Combining services is best suited for someone who is adaptable, highly organized, responsive, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment. What You'll DoChildcare Responsibilities Depending on the assignment, responsibilities may include: Providing attentive, nurturing, and age-appropriate childcare Supporting children's routines, playtime, homework, and activities Preparing simple meals or snacks for children Completing light child-related tidying Following family instructions and established routines Arriving on time and following the confirmed schedule Communicating professionally with families and the Operations team Transporting children when accepting an assignment that includes driving Transportation Responsibilities For Nanny on Wheels and transportation-only assignments, responsibilities may include: Safely transporting children between homes, schools, childcare programs, activities, and other approved destinations Arriving on time for scheduled pickups and drop-offs Following assigned schedules, routes, and safety instructions Using required scheduling, navigation, location, and communication systems Properly managing car seats and booster seats when required Communicating delays or unexpected issues as early as possible Following all transportation, attendance, cancellation, safety, and communication policies What We're Looking For We are looking for individuals who are: Dependable and punctual Caring, patient, and safety-focused Comfortable working with children and families Professional, responsive, and attentive Able to commit consistently to the availability they provide Comfortable following structured childcare and transportation procedures Organized and able to manage changing responsibilities Willing to communicate proactively with the Operations team Interested in meaningful, recurring work supporting local families General Requirements for All Applicants All candidates must have: Legal authorization to work in the United States Ability to complete the required background screening Ability to complete Live Scan fingerprinting A smartphone for schedules, confirmations, location updates, and required communication Reliable communication and consistent availability Ability to provide professional references Ability to complete the training required for their selected role Willingness to follow all applicable safety, attendance, scheduling, cancellation, confidentiality, and communication policies Ability to provide any additional documentation required during onboarding Additional Requirements for Childcare Providers These requirements apply to: Full-time and part-time nannies Mother's Helpers Nanny on Wheels caregivers Childcare providers must also have: Current required immunization records Current CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain certification before beginning childcare assignments Prior nanny, childcare, daycare, teaching, caregiving, or other child-focused experience Ability to provide childcare references Ability to complete required childcare and child-safety training Comfort following family routines and providing age-appropriate care Transportation-only drivers are not required to provide immunization records or hold CPR and First Aid certification. Additional Requirements for Driving Roles These requirements apply to: Nanny on Wheels caregivers Village One Ride transportation-only drivers Anyone transporting children must complete the full driver screening and onboarding process before accepting a driving assignment.
Driving candidates must also have:
A valid driver's license A reliable four-door vehicle Current auto insurance An acceptable driving record Ability to complete DMV screening Comfort using their own vehicle to transport children Willingness and ability to safely install and manage car seats and booster seats A smartphone capable of supporting navigation and required location sharing Ability to complete required child-transportation and driver training Willingness to follow all transportation, vehicle, pickup, drop-off, scheduling, cancellation, and safety procedures Nanny on Wheels applicants must meet both the childcare-provider requirements and the driving-role requirements. Additional vehicle documentation and compliance requirements will be reviewed during onboarding. Driver Bonuses and Additional Earning Opportunities Eligible applicants who opt into Village One Ride transportation routes may qualify for up to $1,200 in sign-on and retention bonuses: 30 days: $200 60 days: $100 90 days: $100 6 months: $300 1 year: $500 Eligible drivers may also have access to: Reliability and attendance bonuses Ride-volume and performance bonuses Car seat and booster seat revenue opportunities Vehicle Magnet Program revenue opportunities Additional earning programs as they become available Eligibility requirements and program terms apply. Hiring and Onboarding Process We are actively hiring and aim to move qualified candidates through the process promptly. Background and Compliance Screening Complete the background screening, Live Scan, and any DMV screening required for your selected role.

Submit the identification, work authorization, immunization, certification, vehicle, insurance, and driving documents applicable to your selected role.

Complete all required employment, payment, and direct-deposit documentation.

Review the policies covering safety, attendance, scheduling, cancellations, communication, confidentiality, and service expectations.

Complete the childcare and/or transportation training required for your selected services.

Provide your current availability and preferred service areas so we can begin matching you with suitable assignments.

Once all requirements are complete, you may begin receiving eligible childcare assignments and/or transportation routes.
