We are looking for a warm, calm, and thoughtful part-time nanny to become a trusted caregiver for our autistic son. He enjoys movement-based and sensory play and does best with caregivers who notice his cues, support his growing independence, and advocate for his sensory needs. We are expanding his established care team. This is a regular, long-term position rather than occasional on-call care. The role starts at $35 per hour, paid through a payroll agency. Responsibilities and pay will grow over time as trust and capability develop. Schedule We will agree on a consistent schedule of up to 18 hours per week using several of the following three-hour shifts:

Monday:

9 a.m.-12 p.m., 10 a.m.-1 p.m., 12-3 p.m., or 3-6 p.m.

Tuesday-Thursday:

2-5 p.m. or 3-6 p.m.

Saturday and Sunday:

10 a.m.-1 p.m. or 1-4 p.m. For weekends, candidates may choose a consistent weekly shift or a fixed rotation agreed upon in advance. Candidates do not need to cover every available block. Once selected, the days, shift times, and weekend pattern will become the nanny's regular schedule. Job Responsibilities Build connection and engagement : Develop a warm, trusting relationship and join him in movement-based and sensory play Provide daily care : Calmly support meals and choices, toileting accidents, routines, transitions, and other care needs Recognize and respond to his cues : Learn his communication, sensory needs, and early signs of overwhelm, then adjust the environment or plan Build independence : Break skills into small, achievable goals and practice them consistently over time Support therapy : Provide safe transportation, support sessions, communicate with his established team, and advocate for his sensory needs Communicate clearly : Share useful updates about his activities, regulation, support needs, and progress Help during downtime : Occasionally handle light child-related tasks, such as folding his laundry, while keeping his care and engagement the priority This is a caregiving role, not a therapist position. The nanny will support established goals and strategies while remaining focused on his care, comfort, and safety. Over time, responsibilities may expand to include: Independent routine care : Manage his established routines and therapy appointments without step-by-step direction Activities and outings : Progress from familiar structured activities to planning and managing less-structured community outings Independent judgment : Make thoughtful, safety-conscious decisions when plans change or an environment becomes overwhelming Full-charge care : Independently provide complete care for several hours Candidate Requirements Relevant caregiving experience : At least one year of hands-on experience caring for an autistic child, along with experience being independently responsible for a child Comfort with daily care : Willing to help with toileting accidents, meals, transitions, and movement-based and sensory play Caregiving style : Warm, calm, engaged, and able to use sound judgment Consistent availability : Able to maintain the agreed schedule for at least 12 months with a sustainable commute Safe transportation : Valid driver's license, safe driving record, reliable insured vehicle, and comfort transporting a child Required clearances : CPR certification before the first shift and willingness to complete agency onboarding and a
