Job Description

A warm, active family is seeking a nurturing, playful, and outdoorsy Traditional Nanny to partner with them in raising kind, confident, and independent children. The ideal candidate is someone who genuinely enjoys spending time outside and naturally suggests activities like bike rides, walks, hikes, or trips to the park, rather than relying on structured programming. This family values unstructured play, creativity, and even a bit of boredom as part of healthy childhood development. They're not looking for a teacher or activity planner, but rather a calm, confident, and energetic presence who knows when to step back and let the children lead their own play. Independence is a core family value. The ideal nanny will encourage age-appropriate responsibility, chores, tidying up, simple meal prep, and reasonable independence in the neighborhood, while maintaining thoughtful boundaries and safety.
Benefits:
Guaranteed hours Paid vacation Paid sick time
Key Responsibilities:
Provide engaged, active supervision for three children (ages 12, 8, and 5) Facilitate outdoor activities such as biking, walking, hiking, and park visits Support unstructured play and creativity rather than highly scheduled activities Prepare healthy afternoon snacks and occasional simple meals, ideally involving the children in the process Encourage age-appropriate independence and responsibility around the home Maintain clear, consistent communication with parents
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of professional Nanny experience with school-age children Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate independence Comfortable facilitating outdoor, unstructured activities Strong communication skills German language skills a plus, but not required. CPR & First Aid certification Negative TB Test and Covid Vaccination Valid driver's license, clean driving record Must pass a comprehensive background check
Ideal Candidate Traits:
Calm and confident Genuinely playful and physically active Comfortable with some mess and low-screen-time activities Not overly anxious or risk-averse (appropriate to the children's ages) Comfortable stepping back and letting children direct their own play If you're a warm, energetic, outdoorsy nanny who loves encouraging kids to explore, create, and grow independently, we'd love to hear from you. Please reach out with your experience and availability to apply.
