Job Summary A single mom in Mount Vernon Triangle is looking for a loving, dependable part-time nanny who is passionate about early childhood development and would enjoy becoming a trusted part of their family. She has one daughter, 4 years old , who will be attending preschool this fall. They're looking for someone who can provide engaging, nurturing care while helping her learn, explore, and have fun. As a single-parent household, reliability, communication, and consistency are especially important . The ideal nanny will be someone the mom can truly count on and who wants to build a warm, trusting relationship with both mom and daughter.
Schedule:
The schedule is flexible , and the family is happy to work with the right nanny to create an arrangement that works well for both parties. Ideally, the family is looking for: 1-2 weekday afternoons/evenings per week Some weekend evenings and/or daytime hours The family is open to guaranteed hours , with the exact schedule and number of hours agreed upon together. The position could range from approximately 5-20 hours per week , depending on availability and interest. For a nanny interested in additional hours, overnight care may also be an option .
Responsibilities:
Provide attentive, loving, and engaging care for a 4-year-old child Pick up from preschool and assist with daily routines Plan and participate in fun, age-appropriate outings and activities Prep/ fix meals and snacks Engage the child in educational activities, creative play, games, and learning experiences Support her social, emotional, and developmental growth Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment Complete light housekeeping related to childcare, such as tidying toys and children's areas
Required Qualifications:
Must have or be willing to complete a background check Current CPR & First Aid certification required Previous experience as a nanny, babysitter, daycare provider, or early childhood educator. Experience caring for preschool-aged children and knowledge of early childhood development Strong communication skills and ability to work independently & professionaly Reliable, responsible, and consistent Comfortable preparing nutritious meals and snacks Able to perform light housekeeping related to childcare Genuine passion for connecting with children as individuals and understanding their current brain development
