Overview Now Hiring:
After-School Childcare Team Member! Looking for a fun, rewarding part-time gig that fits around your schedule? Join our team! We're looking for reliable, energetic individuals who love working with kids.
Hours:
Monday - Friday, 3:00 PM - 5:30 PM (Opportunity for extended hours on no-school days, as well as for curriculum and planning)
Pay:
$15.00 / hour
Requirements:
Must be 16 years or older CPR & First Aid Certified (training provided) Required childcare training (or willingness to complete upon hire) Make a difference in a child's day! Apply today by contacting Jessica Chicoine at jchicoine@stsdsm.com / 515-277-0178 Ext 106 Responsibilities Supervise children during after-school hours, ensuring their safety through vigilant child supervision and behavior management. Plan and facilitate engaging activities such as arts and crafts, outdoor games, and youth activities that promote development and teamwork. Implement classroom management strategies to maintain a positive environment conducive to learning and fun. Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other staff to communicate children's progress and address any behavioral or developmental concerns. Maintain a clean, organized activity space while adhering to safety standards related to outdoor work experience and childcare environments. Skills Proven experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camps, youth programs, or babysitting roles. Strong classroom management skills combined with behavior management techniques to foster respectful interactions. Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices. Certifications in first aid, CPR, AED operation, and familiarity with first aid protocols are highly desirable. Ability to facilitate youth group activities, sports coaching, or outdoor work experiences that promote physical activity and teamwork. Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and team members effectively. Experience in special education or working with children who have unique learning or behavioral needs is a plus.
Pay:
$14.00 - $16.00 per hour
