ABOUT OUR FAMILY
We are looking for a warm, dependable, and energetic live-in professional nanny with Pre-K teaching experience to care for our 3-year-old daughter and 2-year-old son. In addition to providing loving and attentive care, an important part of this position is creating consistent, play-based learning opportunities for our daughter as she approaches age 4, while including our son in activities adapted to his developmental level. We want someone who genuinely enjoys young children and can help create a loving, safe, active, educational, and organized environment for them. Mom and Dad are both professionals who work remotely.TRAVEL AND LIVE-IN BENEFITS
This position offers a unique opportunity to travel with our family and experience living in different parts of the United States and potentially other countries (South America and/or Europe). All required job-related travel expenses are covered by the family. Live-in housing and food in the home are also provided throughout employment. This can be a wonderful fit for someone who is energetic, enjoys travel and new experiences, and is excited about becoming part of a family's daily life. Because we may spend extended periods in different locations, applicants must have the flexibility, and adaptability to keep up with two young children while helping them maintain consistent routines in each new environment.OUR APPROACH TO CHILDCARE
The right person will be patient and affectionate while maintaining consistent routines and age-appropriate boundaries. We use a calm, respectful approach to behavior and do not allow yelling, shaming, physical punishment, or screen time for the children.PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

To be considered, applicants must have formal education or professional credentials related to early childhood development and must meet of the following qualification paths: An associate or bachelor's degree in any of the following: early childhood education/child development/early childhood special education/or a closely related field, with professional experience teaching children ages 3-5. Or A recognized early-childhood teaching credential, such as a CDA Preschool or Birth-to-Five credential, an AMI or AMS Montessori Early Childhood credential, or a state-recognized Pre-K teaching credential. We are looking for experience planning and leading age-appropriate learning activities. The person in this role will create a simple weekly, play-based learning plan for our almost-4-year-old while adapting activities so our 2-year-old can participate at his developmental level. Activities should support early language and literacy, early math, problem-solving, social-emotional development, creativity, independence, and fine and gross motor skills. We use calm, respectful, and developmentally appropriate behavior guidance. Applicants must be able to demonstrate experience with approaches such as connection before correction, redirection, appropriate choices, problem-solving. We do not allow yelling, shaming, threats, physical punishment, or other harsh or frightening discipline. The following qualifications are required, but we would be especially interested in candidates who have one or more of them: Experience working as a lead preschool or Pre-K teacher Formal training in Positive Discipline, Conscious Discipline, Montessori classroom guidance, or a similar relationship-based approachACTIVITIES AND DEVELOPMENT
This is an active, hands-on role.Responsibilities include:
- Independently creating a simple weekly activity plan
- Reading with the children daily
- Encouraging imaginative and independent play
- Providing daily outdoor or physical activity
CHILD-RELATED HOUSEHOLD RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities also include:- Preparing and cleaning up after the children's meals
- Keeping their bedrooms and play areas clean and organized
- Completing the children's laundry and changing their bedding
- Helping keep the kitchen, dining area, and other shared spaces clean during working hours
- Noticing and addressing reasonable needs without requiring repeated instructions Attentive childcare and the children's safety must always remain the first priority.
