After School Counselor Kajun Martial Arts & Fitness Prairieville, LA Job Details Part-time $11 - $13 an hour 19 hours ago Qualifications Childcare High school diploma or GED Working with students Stocking Full Job Description Kajun Martial Arts & Fitness is looking for a dependable, energetic After School Counselor to join our team! If you love working with kids and want an afternoon role that makes a real difference, this could be a great fit. Pay & Schedule $11-$13/hour, based on experience Alternating week rotation: work Monday-Friday one week, off the following week Regular shift: 2:00 PM to 6:30 PM (all children must be picked up by 6:00 PM; the final 30 minutes are for closing duties) Early release days: arrive 20 minutes before school dismissal (dismissals are typically 11:30 AM, 12:30 PM, or 1:30 PM) Additional hours often available on your off weeks if coverage is needed — great for anyone wanting extra income What You'll Do Before students arrive: Make sure the lobby is tidy and welcoming Check that bathrooms are stocked Empty any trash left from the night before Once students arrive (2:30-2:45 PM): Greet kids as they come off the van or bus and get them checked in safely Serve afternoon snacks Help students with homework Supervise students as they get ready for class — keeping them on task and on time if they have a martial arts class that day Engage with the kids — play games, interact, and help them practice our core values of respect and focus After the last child is picked up (by 6:00 PM): Closing duties: empty trash, check bathrooms, vacuum, and tidy up — done and out the door by 6:30 PM or earlier Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Must pass a background check Reliable transportation and punctuality — kids are counting on you at 2:00 PM sharp Flexibility for early release days Preferred (Not Required) Experience working with children — babysitting, childcare, coaching, teaching, or similar About Us Kajun Martial Arts & Fitness has been serving Ascension Parish families since 1997.
