CPR Full Job Description Portland Public Schools:
Latchkey Aide Portland Public Schools is seeking dependable, caring, and enthusiastic individuals to join our Latchkey team as Latchkey Aides. Latchkey Aides help provide a safe, positive, engaging, and welcoming environment for students participating in the District's before- and after-school childcare program. Interested candidates must possess the following: Must be at least 18 years of age in accordance with Michigan childcare licensing requirements Ability to successfully complete all required Portland Public Schools background checks Ability to successfully complete all State of Michigan childcare licensing background check requirements Experience working with preschool and/or elementary-aged children preferred Ability to work effectively and positively with children Strong communication and interpersonal skills Dependable, flexible, and able to work collaboratively as part of a team Ability to maintain confidentiality Must possess or be willing to complete all required training, including: CPR and First Aid certification Bloodborne Pathogens training Required annual childcare training hours Any additional training required by the State of Michigan or Portland Public Schools Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Supervise and support students participating in the before- and/or after-school Latchkey program Help maintain a safe, welcoming, organized, and engaging environment for students Assist with age-appropriate activities, games, crafts, and other programming Apply program expectations and rules in a consistent, fair, and positive manner Serve as a positive role model for students Support the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students Effectively communicate and cooperate with students, parents/guardians, coworkers, and District staff Maintain appropriate confidentiality regarding students and families Assist with basic first aid and student health needs in accordance with District procedures and required training Follow all Portland Public Schools policies and applicable State of Michigan childcare licensing requirements Perform other related duties as assigned
