Manual Transmission Position Overview:

The Shipping/Receiving CDL A Driver is responsible for transporting goods to and from Portland Products while managing shipping and receiving tasks. This role involves operating a commercial vehicle, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of products, and handling associated logistics and documentation. The driver will work closely with warehouse staff to support efficient shipping and receiving operations. Status Hourly

Shipping/Receiving Supervisor Specific Duties:

1.

Transportation and Delivery:

o Operate a CDL A commercial vehicle to transport goods to and from the manufacturing facility. o Ensure timely and safe delivery of products to customers or other facilities. o Adhere to all DOT regulations and company policies related to vehicle operation and cargo handling. 2.

Shipping and Receiving Duties:

o Assist with the loading and unloading of goods, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo. o Verify and inspect shipments for accuracy, completeness, and damage before departure and upon arrival. o Prepare and process shipping and receiving documentation, including bills of lading, packing slips, and delivery receipts. o Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure smooth and efficient shipping and receiving operations. 3.

Inventory Management:

o Assist in managing inventory levels by performing regular checks and reporting any discrepancies. o Ensure that received goods are properly logged and stored in designated areas. o Help with inventory rotation and stock replenishment as needed. 4.

Customer Service:

o Communicate effectively with customers and vendors to address any delivery issues or concerns. o Provide exceptional customer service by maintaining professionalism and addressing any questions or issues during deliveries. 5.

Safety and Compliance:

o Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while operating the vehicle and handling goods. o Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards. o Maintain a clean and organized vehicle, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). 6.

Documentation and Reporting:

o Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel usage, and vehicle maintenance. o Prepare and submit reports on shipping/receiving activities, vehicle condition, and any issues encountered. o Report any vehicle malfunctions, safety incidents, or delivery issues to the appropriate supervisor. 7.

Process Improvement:

o Identify opportunities to improve transportation and logistics processes. o Participate in training and development programs to enhance driving skills and knowledge of shipping/receiving procedures. o Contribute to team efforts to enhance efficiency and accuracy in shipping and receiving operations.

Experience, Skills, Education Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in logistics or transportation is a plus.
• Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record.
• 5 years of experience as a commercial driver, preferably in a shipping/receiving or manufacturing environment.
• Basic knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures and inventory management.
• Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts is a plus.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in PLEX
• This position will alternate 1st and 3rd shift.
