Childcare Aide Building Blocks Childcare & Preschool CenterSaginaw, Michigan Position Summary Building Blocks Childcare & Preschool Center is seeking a caring, dependable, and energetic Childcare Aide to support children from birth through age 12. The Childcare Aide assists classroom teachers with supervision, daily routines, learning activities, meals, classroom organization, and maintaining a safe and nurturing environment. Primary Responsibilities Supervise and actively engage with children during classroom activities, meals, rest periods, outdoor play, and transitions. Assist teachers with age-appropriate learning activities, creative play, and social-emotional development. Help children with feeding, toileting, diapering, handwashing, dressing, and other daily needs. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment. Sanitize toys, tables, learning materials, and frequently used surfaces. Follow all center policies, licensing requirements, health and safety procedures, and confidentiality standards. Observe children and promptly report concerns, injuries, illnesses, or unusual behavior to the lead teacher or director. Support positive behavior using patience, encouragement, redirection, and developmentally appropriate guidance. Assist with meal preparation, serving, and cleanup as assigned. Communicate respectfully and professionally with children, families, coworkers, and supervisors. Participate in required staff meetings, training, and professional development. Provide support in different classrooms as needed. Perform other duties related to the care and safety of children. Minimum Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or GED required. Experience working with children is preferred. Must be dependable, patient, attentive, and able to work effectively as part of a team. Must successfully complete all required background checks and health clearances. Must obtain or maintain required CPR, First Aid, and childcare training. Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions. Reliable transportation and consistent attendance are required. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds. Ability to sit on the floor, bend, kneel, stand, walk, and move quickly when necessary. Ability to safely supervise children indoors and outdoors.
