Job Description
Child Care Center Director The Learning Tree Childcare & Preschool At The Learning Tree, we believe childhood should feel safe, joyful, and full of meaningful moments. We are looking for a Center Director who not only understands childcare—but truly loves it. Someone who leads with heart, supports their team, and builds strong relationships with both children and families. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys being involved in the day-to-day, mentoring staff, and creating a positive, well-run environment where everyone feels supported. What You'll Do Lead and support a team of teachers with encouragement and guidance Be present in classrooms and build relationships with children and families Keep our center organized, running smoothly, and in compliance with ND licensing Maintain staff schedules, ratios, and daily operations Help staff grow through training, coaching, and positive feedback Communicate openly with families and create a welcoming environment Ensure our program stays safe, structured, and developmentally appropriate What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is: Kind, dependable, and confident in leadership Organized but flexible (because childcare is never the same day twice!) Passionate about early childhood and making a difference A strong communicator who can support both staff and families North Dakota Requirements To meet state licensing requirements, candidates must have one of the following: Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field OR degree + childcare experience + some early childhood training OR CDA, Montessori certification, or teaching license with experience OR combination of education, experience, and approved training You'll also need to: Pass a background check Complete required ND trainings (Safe Sleep, Mandated Reporter, etc.) Complete ongoing yearly training (we help support this!)
