Job Description

ROLE :
Welcome into our rhythm. We are a warm, devoted family seeking a conscious care partner to join us in guiding, nurturing, and deeply supporting our two energetic young boys. This live-in role (open to live-out if you are nearby and don't mind the occasional late commute) is a collaborative partnership centered on mindful caregiving and creative early childhood development. We appreciate your interest and only hold space for those with a genuine devotion to children, bringing the necessary mindset and rich experience .
PLEASE DO NOT APPLY WITHOUT PROFESSIONAL NANNY EXPERIENCE. APPLICATIONS MUST REFLECT THIS PASSION AND EXPERTISE
. Thank you! We are a call away! ( 909) 74-BLISS (909-742-5477)
START DATE
: September 2026 WHO
YOU'LL CARE FOR
: Three children,
Ages:
Infant, 1.5 years, and 3.5 years!
OUR CHILDREN ARE
: Wonderful sons, who fill our home with distinct, beautiful personalities. Though they approach the world differently, they share a deep curiosity and a budding bond that anchors our family. Fritz is our Observant Thinker turning 3 on August 26, Fritz is a deep thinker and an old soul. He is a careful observer who prefers to understand and process new things before diving in. While he is high-energy and an avid climber in the comfort of home, he is slow to warm up in unfamiliar environments, thriving on routine rather than surprises. Fritz has an incredible memory, a passion for learning how things work, and a love for books, music, and dancing. He is also completely captivated by "autos"—anything with wheels, big trucks, lawn mowers—and loves mimicking real-world work by "vacuuming" and "blowing leaves." Hans is our Radiant Explorer. Turning 1 on August 1, Hans is our pure ray of sunshine. He wakes up every morning "bright-eyed and bushy-tailed," when he wakes up in the morning, and just wants to get the day going with those he loves. Incredibly joyful and affectionate, Hans rarely cries unless he is hungry or overtired. He is our little engineer, meticulously exploring his environment by opening drawers, opening doors, and taking things apart to examine their inner workings. Hans adores his big brother and has already inherited Fritz's passion for wheels, alongside a growing love for playing with balls.
WE'RE LOOKING FOR
: A compassionate, experienced, deeply creative, and flexible live-in nanny to act as a hands-on care partner in raising and supporting our boys. The ideal candidate is also dedicated, has energy to keep up with two young boys, a strong background in Waldorf and/or Reggio Emilia education and can confidently lead a Waldorf-based curriculum while navigating the dynamic developmental shifts of early childhood. We are an active, intentional Christian family who raises our children with a warm foundation in faith and the natural rhythms of life. We attend church on Sundays, say grace before meals, and center holidays like Christmas and Easter around their true religious meanings (such as celebrating the birth of Jesus rather than Santa Claus). We welcomingly invite candidates of all faith backgrounds, provided you fully respect, support, and help uphold these cherished family traditions and rhythms. Waldorf principles shape our home, daily rhythms, and family history, which we beautifully blend with some Montessori and Reggio Emilia influences. We prioritize the imagination, creativity, and play-based focus of Waldorf and Reggio Emilia approaches All our toys come from Sarah's Silks, Bella Luna, etc. We focus a lot on imaginative play and natural materials, though we do have regular magna tiles and some small metal cars. The music in our home is primarily Broadway, classical music, folk songs, Christian music and children's music by Raffi or other more folk-style children's performers. The only television our boys watch are German-language children's videos on Friday night (to prepare them for German school on Saturday morning) and they watch ballet performances, particularly The Royal Ballet's performance of The Tales of Beatrix Potter. Our family's lifestyle centers around a deep appreciation for the performing arts and hands-on outdoor experiences. Leveraging my background in classical opera and our shared passion for ballet and Broadway, my husband and I take weekly in-home piano lessons every Friday morning—a musical tradition our son, Fritz, will join this fall. We actively foster this love for the stage in our young boys by taking them to age-appropriate children's performances as often as possible. Closer to home, we cultivate a large garden each spring and summer; this season, we have focused on teaching Fritz how to grow his own tomatoes and cucumbers. We view nannies as professionals and, therefore, are committed to maintaining clear expectations and boundaries to set everyone up for success! Additionally, we are looking for a nanny who:
  • Can go with the flow sometimes.
We want to emphasize that flexibility is an important part of this role. Because we both have demanding careers, our primary goal in seeking live-in support is having reliable backup when our work days extend unexpectedly. While your core schedule will remain consistent, there will be times when we need you to step in if we are running late or need to leave early. We are also open to a live-out arrangement if you happen to live nearby and prefer that option.
  • Is comfortable driving. You would need to drive Hans to his baby classes (he goes weekly to a baby gym class, baby music class and baby playgroup) and would need to pick Fritz up from his morning preschool class. We have a vehicle that the nanny would use to drive the children.
  • Can confidently follow the Waldorf Wondergarten homeschool curriculum with our 3-year-old, intentionally integrating our 1-year-old into the daily and weekly rhythms.
  • Manages evening routines, dinner, and bedtime when our professional schedules require late nights in New York City.
  • Supports with light home organization tasks, such as restocking supplies, organizing play areas, meals and keeping a tidy environment.
  • Is open to light domestic travel. We occasionally travel for work to client meetings and would love the option to have the nanny accompany us to assist during the work portion of the trip. We typically take a private vacation afterward, at which point your services would not be required.
  • Can swim, for safety reasons.
We have a gated pool. We have a 1:1 policy for adults to kids in the pool, so would not anticipate asking the nanny to take both kids in the pool unless there was another adult out there.
WHAT WE'RE OFFERING
:
RATE:
$30-35 per hour on payroll. We are open to negotiation.
SCHEDULE
Standard weekly hours of 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM on Mondays and Fridays, and 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM Tuesday through Thursday. Because our work schedules vary, we need someone who can be flexible. This includes occasionally going back on-duty at 8:00 PM if my husband and I are stuck late in New York, as well as infrequent early starts around 6:30 AM or 7:00 AM when we have an early commute. There will be a minimum 35 hour a week with a guarantee for all 52 weeks of the year.
BENEFITS

Of those holidays, we offer paid days off for Good Friday, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day, and request that the nanny be prepared to work the remaining holidays at overtime pay. We provide a vehicle to use during childcare duties, and personal use during off-duty hours is permitted subject to prior parental approval. We cover all local fuel expenses and fully pay for the nanny's auto insurance on this vehicle however the nanny is responsible for fuel costs incurred during personal trips that exceed 45 minutes from the home area. We also provide a recurring monthly stipend to cover the cost of a New Jersey state health insurance plan.
