Spanish Speaking Morning & Afternoon Nanny for Two Children
- Greenwich Village Overview A welcoming Smart Sitting family of four is seeking a warm, reliable, and proactive part-time nanny for their two children, a 5-year-old daughter and 2-year-old son, in their Greenwich Village home.
This is a school-year position through June 2027, focused primarily on weekday mornings, with additional afternoon coverage two days per week. The nanny will help the children get ready for school each morning, ensure one gets to the school bus, and walk the other child to school. Two afternoons per week, the nanny will pick the children up from school and manage their afternoon routine. Spanish fluency is required for the role. The Ideal Candidate for this Job The ideal candidate is warm, energetic, responsible, and genuinely passionate about working with children. The family is looking for someone who is confident, communicative, and highly attuned to children's developmental stages. They value a nanny who takes initiative, establishes a strong connection with the children, and brings a warm but confident approach to navigating big feelings, transitions, and age-appropriate boundaries. Both children are active and enjoy physical, hands-on play, so the family is looking for someone who genuinely enjoys getting involved at their level. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about running, jumping, playing tag, throwing and catching, and finding creative ways to engage with the children's individual interests. The nanny should have a strong understanding of early childhood development and be comfortable navigating moments of defiance, frustration, and big emotions. The family values someone who can build trust and connection with the children while also maintaining appropriate boundaries and expectations. Clear and direct communication and a take-initiative mindset are especially important to the family. The nanny should be comfortable communicating proactively with the parents, anticipating the children's needs, and confidently managing the morning and afternoon routines. Native or fluent Spanish is required, with a willingness to speak Spanish consistently with the children during afternoon care. Schedule The schedule is approximately 25 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
Morning:
Monday-Friday, 6:00am-9:00am
Afternoon:
Two afternoons per week, including school pickup and the children's afternoon routine. The specific afternoon schedule will be coordinated with the family. Core afternoon schedule is 3 PM to 7/8PM This is a school-year position through June 2027. About the Children The 5 years old girl is outgoing, highly verbal, social, and very attuned to the people around her. She has a big heart and enjoys engaging with others. The 2 years old boy is at an active and engaging stage of early childhood. He benefits from consistent routines, age-appropriate boundaries, and opportunities for enriching play and exploration. Both children are physically active and enjoy energetic play and engaging with the people around them. Responsibilities Responsibilities will include helping the children get dressed, fed, and ready for school each morning; ensuring Violet gets to her school bus safely and on time; and walking Elliot to school. Two afternoons per week, the nanny will pick the children up from school and manage their afternoon routine, including snacks, play, and age-appropriate activities. The nanny will provide attentive, hands-on care, support the children's transitions throughout the day, reinforce established routines and boundaries, and communicate proactively with the parents. During afternoon care, the nanny will speak Spanish with the children and incorporate Spanish naturally into their routine and activities. Additional Information Before applying, please be sure you:
- Have at least five to seven years of full-time nanny experience with demonstrated longevity
- Must be a fluent Spanish speaker
- Have a current annual flu vaccination
- Have legal ability to work in the United States (this job is on the books, no exceptions)
- Have three professional nanny references already on file or that we can call
- In-person CPR certification or willingness to obtain
