The Mt. Washington UMC Child Enrichment Center is hiring full time teachers and support staff. No nights or weekends. We are seeking dependable, patient, nurturing, energetic individuals who possess a passion to promote social-emotional, physical and cognitive growth in each child. We provide a fun, relaxed environment with paid training, paid holidays including Christmas to New Years, paid time off, vacation days, a monthly Mental Health day, and child care discount. Pay is based on experience and education. Responsibilities include but not limited to: Maintain a safe clean environment Develop and implement age appropriate weekly lesson plans Interact with children to support play, exploration, and learning Show empathy and compassion for young children Facilitating ongoing communication with parents Develop a relationship with the children, parents and other staff members Able to calmly address stressful situations professionally Able to multi-task Meet state licensing and annual continuing education requirements Able to lift 40 lbs. in connection with handling safety or emergency situations with the children. Ideal candidates possess a CDA, an associate degree in child care, or a bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education, but not required. High School diploma or GED is required. Candidates are required to pass a criminal background check.
