After-School Family Assistant Part-Time | Norman, Oklahoma | $18-$20/hour | Approximately 9 hours/week We are looking for a caring, responsible, energetic college student or young adult to join our family as an After-School Family Assistant. We have five children — two 10-year-olds, one 9-year-old, one 7-year-old, and one 4-year-old — and we are looking for someone who can help make their afternoons organized, engaging, and positive. This is a consistent, ongoing part-time position for someone who genuinely enjoys working with children and would like to become a trusted and dependable part of our family's routine. Responsibilities The After-School Family Assistant will help with the children's afternoon and early evening routine.

Responsibilities may include:

Helping the children transition smoothly from school to home Picking up the children from school when needed, although this will not be often Preparing simple snacks and meals Helping with homework and schoolwork Playing games, doing crafts, reading, and planning age-appropriate activities Keeping the children engaged, active, and entertained Helping children prepare for activities and evening routines Helping keep bedrooms, play areas, and common spaces picked up Cleaning up after snacks and meals Encouraging cooperation, kindness, and positive behavior Supervising and caring for all five children Providing a patient, dependable, and encouraging presence Supporting autistic children according to their individual routines, communication styles, and needs Helping with other light, child-related household tasks as needed This is a hands-on position. The ideal candidate should be comfortable balancing the different ages, personalities, and energy levels of five children. About the Children 10 years old 10 years old — autistic 9 years old 7 years old 4 years old — autistic You do not need to be an autism expert. We are looking for someone who is patient, willing to learn, and comfortable supporting autistic children according to their individual needs and routines. Schedule 3 days per week 3 hours per day Approximately 9 hours per week Exact days and times can be discussed based on the candidate's school or work schedule Occasional additional hours may be available when school is out or extra help is needed We are looking for someone who can commit to a consistent schedule and become a regular part of our family's weekly routine. Compensation & Payment $18-$20 per hour, depending on experience Starting pay is $18/hour, with the possibility of $20/hour based on childcare experience, experience supporting autistic children, CPR/First Aid certification, and overall fit. Payment is made in cash on a monthly basis. This position is paid monthly, not weekly or biweekly. At $18/hour, the regular schedule is approximately $702 per month, based on an average 4.33-week month. Actual monthly compensation will be based on hours worked. College students studying education, child development, psychology, nursing, social work, or a related field are especially encouraged to apply.
