This position is ideal for a professional newborn caregiver who is confident working independently overnight and knowledgeable about newborn feeding, soothing, sleep habits, and age-appropriate routines. The ideal candidate will bring a calm and nurturing presence, strong newborn-care expertise, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to supporting both the baby and parents. This is a wonderful opportunity to make a meaningful difference for a family during the important postpartum period while helping parents receive the rest they need. This is a full-time, long-term position with a tentative start date of mid-to-late November, depending on the baby's arrival. Responsibilities Provide attentive, professional overnight newborn care, including feeding, diapering, burping, soothing, and comforting Support healthy newborn sleep habits and age-appropriate sleep routines Monitor the newborn throughout the overnight shift and respond promptly to the baby's needs Follow the family's preferred feeding, sleep, and caregiving routines Help establish a calm, consistent, and nurturing overnight environment Communicate clearly with parents regarding the baby's overnight feeding, sleeping, diapering, and overall well-being Provide postpartum support by allowing parents uninterrupted time to rest Maintain a clean, organized nursery and tidy baby-related areas Wash and organize bottles and baby-care items as needed Observe and communicate any notable changes in the baby's behavior, feeding, sleep, or general well-being Work independently and confidently during overnight hours while respecting the family's parenting style and preferences Collaborate with parents to provide consistent, responsive care for the newborn Requirements Proven professional experience caring for newborns in private-family or childcare settings Professional overnight newborn care experience is required Experience supporting healthy newborn sleep habits and routines Experience caring for non-familial newborns CPR and First Aid certification required Professional references specifically related to overnight newborn care services are required Strong understanding of newborn feeding, diapering, soothing, sleep, and developmental needs Ability to work independently and remain attentive and responsive throughout overnight hours Excellent communication, reliability, professionalism, and judgment Calm, nurturing, respectful, and dependable personality Ability to follow parents' instructions while proactively anticipating the newborn's needs Newborn Care Specialist (NCS) training or certification is preferred Schedule & Compensation $25-$30 per hour , depending on experience and qualifications 5-7 nights per week 8:00 PM-6:00 AM Schedule may be Monday-Friday or Monday-Sunday Full-time, long-term opportunity Start date: Tentatively mid-to-late November, depending on baby's arrival Family & Home Environment The family is warm, supportive, family-oriented, and straightforward .
