Competitive salary Health insurance Paid time off Director of Early Education & Childcare Morning Star Academy | Bonham, Texas Full-Time Leadership Position Morning Star Academy is seeking an experienced Director of Early Education & Childcare to provide spiritual, educational, and operational leadership for our early childhood and extended care programs. This position oversees Infants through Transition , as well as before- and after-school care, school-break programs, and Summer Camp. The Director works closely with the Executive Director and is responsible for developing staff, ensuring program quality, maintaining licensing and quality standards, and creating a Christ-centered environment where children, families, and employees thrive. What You'll Lead People & Culture Recruit, onboard, supervise, coach, and evaluate Early Education and extended care staff Conduct classroom observations, coaching conversations, and team meetings Develop staff through meaningful professional development and clear accountability Build a positive, Christ-centered team culture characterized by collaboration, professionalism, and joyful service Program Excellence Ensure high-quality, developmentally appropriate programming from Infants through Transition Oversee effective curriculum implementation and support strong instructional practices Support teachers with classroom management, student needs, and family partnerships Oversee before- and after-school care, school-break programs, and Summer Camp Continually evaluate programs and identify opportunities for improvement Operations & Compliance Serve as the qualified director for MSA's licensed childcare operation Maintain compliance with Texas Child Care Regulation Minimum Standards, Texas Rising Star, and applicable accreditation requirements Manage staffing, schedules, ratios, records, and daily operations Prepare for licensing, Texas Rising Star, and accreditation visits Ensure facilities, classrooms, resources, and assigned budgets are managed responsibly Maintain timely, professional communication with families What We're Looking For This is not an entry-level director position . We are looking for an experienced childcare leader who is ready to take ownership of a growing program.

Candidates must:

Have previous childcare director or significant childcare leadership experience Meet all Texas requirements to serve as a Child Care Center Director , including the required Director's Certificate/credential Have strong working knowledge of Texas Minimum Standards Have experience supervising, coaching, and developing employees Understand developmentally appropriate early childhood practices and curriculum implementation Be highly organized, proactive, dependable, and comfortable making decisions and holding others accountable Support and actively contribute to the Christian mission and values of Morning Star Academy Experience with Texas Rising Star, accreditation, and early childhood quality-improvement systems is strongly preferred. The Leader We're Looking For We need someone who takes ownership . The right person sees what needs to be done, develops a plan, communicates clearly, follows through, and builds systems that help the entire team succeed. This leader should be visible and hands-on , spending time in classrooms and with staff, children, and families—not managing exclusively from an office. They should be able to balance warmth and relationships with high expectations and accountability.
