Child Care Staff Braxton Family services Hampton, VA Job Details Part-time | Full-time | Contract From $17 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications HIPAA Care documentation Residential treatment center experience Assisting with ADLs Direct support Adolescents Group home experience Full Job Description The Child Care/Direct Care Staff member is responsible for providing direct supervision, support, guidance, and care to adolescent female residents in a therapeutic group home setting. The employee will maintain a safe, structured, supportive, and therapeutic environment while assisting residents with daily living activities, behavioral goals, educational responsibilities, social development, and independent living skills. The Direct Care Staff member serves as a positive role model and is expected to interact with residents in a respectful, professional, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive manner. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide continuous supervision of residents according to the home's approved staffing and supervision requirements. Maintain a safe, clean, structured, and therapeutic residential environment. Assist residents with activities of daily living, personal hygiene, meals, housekeeping, laundry, and organization. Implement residents' individualized service plans, treatment goals, behavior support plans, and daily schedules as directed by qualified staff. Provide appropriate behavioral support and redirection while maintaining residents' dignity and safety. Monitor residents for changes in behavior, mood, functioning, or safety concerns and promptly report concerns to supervisory or clinical staff. Assist with transportation to school, appointments, recreational activities, community activities, and other approved activities. Encourage positive peer relationships, communication skills, responsibility, and appropriate decision-making. Assist residents with educational and life-skills activities. Participate in recreational, therapeutic, and community-based activities. Complete required daily documentation, progress notes, incident reports, communication logs, medication-related documentation, and other required records accurately and timely. Follow all medication-related procedures within the employee's authorized scope and training. Follow emergency, crisis intervention, evacuation, abuse/neglect reporting, infection-control, and safety procedures. Maintain confidentiality of resident information and comply with HIPAA and applicable privacy requirements. Maintain professional boundaries with residents and their families. Attend staff meetings, supervision, in-service training, and required continuing education. Communicate effectively with the Administrator, Program Manager, clinical staff, parents/guardians, case managers, schools, and other authorized providers. Report suspected abuse, neglect, exploitation, or other safety concerns immediately in accordance with applicable law and company policy. Perform other duties reasonably assigned by the Administrator or Program Manager.
