In person KinderBridge Talent is recruiting on behalf of Living Hope Lutheran Church Child Development Center in Stafford, Virginia, for an experienced early childhood leader to serve as Child Development Center Director . This is an opportunity for a strong early childhood professional who enjoys leading people, building relationships with families, supporting teachers, and ensuring a high-quality, safe, and well-run program. The Director provides leadership and administrative oversight for the Child Development Center and works closely with the Pastor, CDC Board, Assistant Director, teaching staff, families, and church leadership. This position is responsible for maintaining a safe, compliant, Christ-centered learning environment while supporting staff development, program quality, enrollment, and day-to-day operations. What You'll Do As the Child Development Center Director, you will: Lead the daily operations of the Child Development Center Ensure compliance with state childcare licensing requirements, including ratios, documentation, safety practices, inspections, and mandatory reporting Provide leadership and oversight for curriculum development, implementation, and ongoing program evaluation Supervise, coach, and support teachers and center staff Lead hiring, onboarding, training, performance reviews, corrective action, and professional development planning Partner with the Assistant Director to ensure appropriate staffing, classroom coverage, and smooth daily operations Maintain an active presence throughout classrooms and the center Build strong, professional relationships with children, families, staff, and church leadership Respond to parent questions and concerns while supporting positive family relationships Oversee enrollment, retention, marketing, and community engagement efforts Maintain secure and accurate child, staff, incident, and licensing records Oversee safety procedures, emergency preparedness, drills, and child-protection practices Participate in annual budget planning and monthly financial reviews Oversee tuition schedules and support responsible financial stewardship Serve as the primary liaison with state licensing authorities, health inspectors, and accreditation organizations Review and update staff and parent handbooks as needed Collaborate with the Pastor and CDC Board on long-term planning and continued development of the center What We're Looking ForEducation Candidates should have one of the following: Bachelor's degree Associate degree Current CDA Equivalent credential in Early Childhood Education or a related child-development field Experience Approximately 4-7 years of experience in early childhood education or program leadership Approximately 1-3 years of supervisory or leadership experience Experience supporting teachers, children, and families in an early childhood environment Strong understanding of childcare operations, classroom quality, and licensing expectations Leadership Skills The ideal candidate will demonstrate: Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to coach, develop, and lead staff Excellent organization and time-management skills Confidence handling parent concerns and sensitive situations Sound judgment and professionalism Ability to maintain strict confidentiality Comfort using Microsoft Office and web-based communication and data systems Experience with childcare management software or SaaS platforms Willingness to use and continue learning new technology, including AI-supported tools Faith & Mission Living Hope Lutheran Church Child Development Center is a Christian ministry. Candidates must be an active member of a Christian congregation and comfortable supporting the Christian mission and educational philosophy of the center. Familiarity with Lutheran education and ministry is desired, with LCMS experience preferred.Benefits Benefits include:
