PART-TIME NANNY / FAMILY ASSISTANT
Ford's Colony Williamsburg, Virginia Schedule 30 guaranteed hours per week; before-school and after-school coverage plus flexible family-assistant hours Compensation $26-$30 per hour, based on experience and qualifications plus gas mileage Children Three children, ages 16, 9, and 7 (primary care is for the two younger children) Start Date As soon as the right candidate is selected / mutually agreed The Position A warm, busy Williamsburg family is seeking a dependable, proactive nanny/family assistant to provide consistent before- and after-school care and help keep the household running smoothly. The ideal candidate will be organized, safety-conscious, comfortable driving children, and happy to combine childcare with practical household support. Core Schedule
    Tuesday and Friday:
    6:30-9:30 AM for before-school care and the morning routine.
      Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday:
      3:30-5:30 PM for after-school care, snacks/meals, and activities. Additional hours after the morning shift and before the afternoon shift to do extra househool chores but not full house-keeping.
      • Monday may include additional hours, depending on the father's finalized flex-day schedule.
      • The position guarantees 30 paid hours each week. Hours outside the fixed childcare windows will be scheduled for household support, errands, school-closure coverage, and other agreed family needs.
      • Some flexibility is requested for school holidays, teacher workdays, and school vacations. Childcare Responsibilities
      • Provide attentive, reliable care and maintain a safe, positive environment.
      • Assist the younger children with morning and after-school routines.
      • Prepare snacks and simple meals for the children.
      • Transport children safely to school and activities, including gymnastics at Williamsburg Gymnastics.
      • Support age-appropriate independence, organization, and respectful behavior.
      • Communicate clearly with the parents about schedules, activities, and any concerns. Family Assistant Responsibilities
      • Children's and family laundry, including folding and putting items away.
      • Load/unload the dishwasher and keep common areas and children's spaces tidy.
      • Simple meal preparation and light kitchen reset.
      • Grocery pickup, shopping, and occasional family errands.
      • Dog walking and basic pet care.
      • Help the family prepare for changing school and activity schedules. Ideal Candidate
      • Experienced with school-age children and confident managing more than one child.
      • Dependable, punctual, proactive, and comfortable working independently.
      • A safe driver with a clean driving record and reliable transportation.
      • Certified in CPR and First Aid
      • Comfortable with dogs and willing to assist with pet care.
      • Able to balance childcare priorities with light household tasks.
      • Professional, communicative, and interested in a stable, long-term position.
