Job Description

Assistant Minister of English-Speaking Ministries Employment Status and Hours:
Exempt; Regular Full-Time Reports to: The English Lead Pastor or a supervisor designated by the
English Lead Pastor Typical Work Schedule:
Sundays, 4 weekdays, frequent Saturdays for events and activities
Job Summary:
This is a transitional position (2-3 years) intended to prepare and train a minister to step into the EnglishSpeaking pastoral team.
Delegated Authority:
Assists in various English-Speaking ministries
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assist designated supervisor on both operational and strategic levels. 2. Assume ministry leadership and responsibility in specific areas of ministry as directed by designated supervisor. 3. Continue to develop areas needing further training/experience as directed by designated supervisor. 4. Attend all meetings as directed by designated supervisor or English Lead Pastor 5. Be an active and contributing member of the church pastoral staff team. 6. Assist in preaching during worship services. 7. Assist with any other ministries/tasks as directed by designated supervisor or English Lead Pastor.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
As a member of the pastoral staff, this position will have daily contact with the church office staff including maintenance, administrative staff members and various elected/appointed committees, as well as frequent contact with lay workers. On many occasions, members of the pastoral staff will have contact with third parties on behalf of the church. In all instances, pastoral staff members must maintain a professional and spiritual decorum in all contacts and communications (both written and oral) with all parties.
MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
Master's degree in divinity or equivalent combination of education and experience.
KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE
1. Ministerial experience in a North American church desirable. 2. Prior ministry experience a plus.
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
Teaching, coaching, leading and preaching
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Proficiency in written and verbal English.
CERTIFICATIONS OR LICENSES
Ordination not required.
WORK CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Be able to operate a computer and standard office equipment. 2. Must be able to travel to visit members and visitors as needed and to attend various functions/events. Valid driver's license preferred. 3. Be able to perform the essential functions of the role normally expected of a member of the pastoral staff.

The minister is a member of the FCBCLA pastoral staff and acknowledges and agrees to abide by FCBCLA's Constitution and By-laws and Statement of Faith

Good people skills i. High "emotional intelligence" ii. Ability to communicate well on a personal level iii. A person who can minimize and/or resolve personal conflict h. Understanding of both Chinese immigrant and Asian-American cultures
Salary:
$65,000 to $71,000 annually + 403(b) with employer match + medical, dental, vision + PTO This job description is subject to change by the church as the needs of the church and requirements of the job change. Employment is at-will and may be terminated by either party at any time, with or without cause or notice, subject to applicable law.
