Job Description
Pastor of Family Ministries - Community Baptist Church of San Mateo The Pastor of Family Ministries will provide vision, energy, oversight, and direction to the Family Ministries of Community Baptist Church. The Pastor of Family Ministries will work with and disciple families to Christ, creating disciples of the next generation. The Pastor will promote Community Baptist Church's vision of reaching people for Christ and build relationships with the lost within our community. In addition, the Pastor will share our vision and personal faith within the church body, our leaders, and volunteers. Personal [Spiritual] Qualifications Follower of Christ Agreement with the doctrines and beliefs of the American Baptist Church and Community Baptist Church of San Mateo A person of integrity and humility An attitude of inclusivity and a spirit of curiosity Personable, Intuitive, Insightful Disciplined and self-motivated Knowledge, Skills, Experience Creates and cultivates an environment for spiritual growth and discipleship o Experience in ministering to diverse age groups (2-5 years exp preferred) o Knowledge and application of Scripture in discipling Builds and encourages strong relationships o Develops community relationships o Experience in counseling o Understands cultural dynamics o Fluent in English and Mandarin or Cantonese Supports and expands ministries relevant to church vision o Directs and facilitates their ministry team o Collaborates with other ministry teams o Meets challenges in creative ways Pastoral Accountability Participate in weekly pastoral staff meetings Participate in regular visitation and outreach opportunities The Pastor of Family Ministries is part of the Staff and accountable to the Senior Pastor and the church Board of Directors.
