Job Description

THE OPPORTUNITY
We are praying for a visionary, passionate, and biblically-grounded Bi-Vocational Senior Pastor to lead us into our next season of growth. Our ideal candidate is a shepherd and gifted communicator with a strong administrative background who is comfortable ministering to a diverse congregation. We need a leader who will inspire the congregation, help grow the membership (and help it to become a more diverse congregation), equip our members for ministry, and help us deepen our local community impact.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
STATEMENT
OF FAITH
Have a clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ.
EXPERIENCE
Three years as an ordained Assistant, Associate, or Senior Pastor.
PREACHING
Strong expository/topical preaching that connects scripture to daily life.
LEADERSHIP
Proven ability to lead groups, members, manage church vision and mission, and foster unity.
EDUCATION
A bachelor's degree is preferred.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Proclaim the gospel to FBC members and guests, and lead FBC in proclaiming the gospel to the community.
  • Ensure the spiritual growth of the members.
  • Oversee the administration of the Lord's Supper and Baptism.
  • Counsel and assist Deacons, Leadership Team Officers, and committees to discharge their responsibilities in accordance with the church Constitution and By-Laws.
  • Be community focused, providing the vision for community outreach, evangelism, and efforts to attract members.
  • Perform other duties as needed to assist the congregation.
COMPENSATION
Our current operating budget is very modest. We are expecting the Pastor we call to have a job outside of this position. Currently, we are only able to pay a small salary, which will be based on what is collected in the tithes and offerings. In the future, as the membership grows and the church is blessed with increased financial resources; the Pastor's salary will be adjusted accordingly. We understand this arrangement is not ideal, and it does not reflect the high value we place on our Pastor.
BENEFITS
Unpaid Time Off - four Sundays per year. As with the salary, this could be adjusted as the membership grows and the church is blessed with increased financial resources.
