The overall responsibilities of this position are to support the Instructor in the daily planning, implementation, and maintenance of the community schools program activities. The program promotes academic achievement and supports the emotional and social development of participants. Program activities will include aspects of teambuilding, cooperative learning, social emotional development, and leadership development. This is a seasonal position during school year. Duties include, but are not limited to: Assist Lead Instructor in the development and instruction of the Community School enrichment activities Activities must be interactive, creative, and combine different learning approaches. Maintain effective communication with the Lead Instructor and the Resource Coordinator. Assist and participate in the Community School program activities at assigned site. Assist in the instruction of academic activities in the content areas of math, literacy, and science. Assist in the instruction of enrichment activities that include aspects of teambuilding, cooperative learning, social emotional development, and leadership development that is culturally relevant and affirming. Supervise and ensure the safety of the program's participants through a strength-based approach. Serve as a member of the Community School program team by participating in weekly staff meetings and professional development trainings during non-program hours. Carry out additional job-related duties as may be directed by immediate supervisor. The ideal candidate will have the following education and experience: Must have a high school diploma or GED. Minimum 1 year experience working with urban youth in educational settings. Desire to have a positive impact on children and youth. Ability to multitask. Ability to assist in resolving challenging situations productively and without personalization. Ability to manage time and classroom. Available Monday•Friday (contingent on programming schedule) Must be available to work in the afternoon, some mornings, and weekends shifts.

Monday•Friday 1:30 pm•5:30 pm (up to 20 hrs/week) This is a part-time non-exempt position.
