Job Description
Gary United Methodist Church Wheaton, Illinois 60187 Full Time , On-Site At Gary Church, our mission through Christ is to grow in joyful faith and serve all in love. The Director of Youth Ministry (DYM) provides leadership in ministry serving the young people of Gary Church and the broader Wheaton area, building meaningful relationships with and developing a welcoming community for students in grades 6 through 12. Working in collaboration with parents, volunteers, staff and the congregation, the DYM creates formal and informal opportunities for youth to feel connected, grow in their faith as followers of Jesus Christ and actively participate in the life of the church. The Director reports to the Senior Pastor. The Director of Youth Ministry requires a positive attitude and an outgoing nature, friendliness, enthusiasm, a sense of humor, tenaciousness, determination, a commitment to youth and the ability to relate to pre-teens, teens and their families.
