Job Description
First Southern Baptist Church Abilene (FSBC) is a welcoming rural church located in the Heartland of America. We are a congregation that loves God, loves our community, and deeply values our church family. We have well-maintained, up-to-date facilities. Our location offers the advantages of rural community life while being within a convenient drive of Salina, Kansas City and Midwestern Seminary. Our congregation includes younger families and children, providing opportunities for ministry across generations and a strong foundation for continued growth. We are committed supporters of the Baptist Faith and Message and are actively connected with the Kansas-Nebraska Convention of Southern Baptists. FSBC Abilene has been blessed with healthy resources and seeks to be a good steward of all that God has entrusted to us. Pastor Qualifications Grounded firmly in God's Word and committed to biblical truth. A strong, engaging Bible preacher and teacher who faithfully communicates the Gospel. Maintains a consistent, prayerful, and Bible-centered devotional life. Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Able to provide strong, Christ-centered leadership while developing open, genuine, and trusting relationships with the congregation and community. Compassionate, caring, and attentive to the needs of individuals and families. Willing to relocate to and become an active part of the Abilene community. Willing to prayerfully discuss and explore what a bi-vocational pastorate may look like in the context of FSBC Abilene. Educational Requirements & Benefits Seminary graduate preferred, or Bible college graduate with equivalent ministry experience. Willing to discuss opportunities to help with ongoing seminary education and continuing education costs. Matching retirement plan available as part of the church's overall support for the pastor.
