A Religious Leader or Professional leads religious services and provides spiritual guidance or counseling. Presents knowledge and interpretation of theological texts. May work in a non-denominational setting like a prison or hospital, or work for specific faith-based congregation or denomination and follow the practices of that faith.
Community Baptist Church is a small, local church committed to faithfully teaching God's Word, worshiping together, serving our community, and helping people grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. We are seeking a person who has a genuine love for Christ and a desire to use their musical gifts and leadership abilities to help our church worship God and reach the next generation.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Our church is seeking a Worship & Music Ministry Leader who can lead our congregation in worship and provide leadership for our church music team. This person will work closely with the Senior Pastor to develop and strengthen our worship ministry while also helping minister to the youth of our church. We are looking for someone who is not only musically capable, but who understands that worship is about much more than music. Our desire is for someone who will help create an atmosphere where people can worship God, hear His Word, grow spiritually, and serve others.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead congregational worship during Sunday services and other church gatherings. Lead, organize, and develop the church music team. Recruit, encourage, train, and schedule musicians and singers. Be able to play keyboard/piano or guitar. Select worship music that is biblically sound and appropriate for the congregation. Work closely with the Senior Pastor in planning worship services. Help develop new strategies for an church transitioning. Work with the Senior Pastor in ministering to and developing the youth ministry. Help provide opportunities for young people to participate in worship and church ministry. Be willing to serve in other areas of ministry as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
A genuine and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Agreement with the basic beliefs and biblical teaching of Community Baptist Church. Ability to play keyboard/piano or guitar, with the ability to lead and work effectively with a music team. Good communication and organizational skills. A heart for people, ministry, and serving the local church. Willingness to work closely with the Senior Pastor and church leadership.
$35,000 annually (pro-rated based on hours and responsibilities; includes church-provided housing package). The overall compensation package will be determined based on the candidate's experience, education, ministry responsibilities, and full-time or part-time status.
