The Children's Ministry plays a vital role in this mission by creating a safe, engaging, and Christ-centered environment where children can develop a lifelong relationship with Jesus. Position Summary The Children's Director provides leadership, vision, and oversight for all children's ministry programs at Faith Church, from nursery through elementary ages. This role serves as an extension of the Lead Pastor's vision by developing ministry programs, equipping volunteers, partnering with families, and creating opportunities for children to experience spiritual growth. Key ResponsibilitiesMinistry Leadership Implement and support the vision and direction established by the Lead Pastor. Develop age-appropriate ministry environments that teach biblical truth and encourage spiritual growth. Lead and oversee all children's ministry activities during Sunday and Wednesday services. Foster a welcoming, safe, and engaging atmosphere for children and families. Volunteer Recruitment & Development Recruit, train, schedule, and support volunteer teachers and ministry workers. Ensure all children's ministry volunteers complete required screenings and safety procedures. Provide ongoing leadership development, encouragement, and communication to volunteers. Program Planning & Administration Prepare curriculum, lesson materials, supplies, and classroom resources for all ministry programs. Maintain organized ministry records, schedules, and volunteer communications. Communicate regularly with parents regarding ministry activities, child development, and ministry updates. Events & Outreach Plan, organize, and participate in special children's ministry events, including: Kids Camp Vacation Bible School Fall Festivals Easter Events Fine Arts Programs Additional outreach and discipleship opportunities Coordinate volunteer teams and resources necessary for successful events. Spiritual Leadership Demonstrate a growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ through prayer, biblical study, and Christian character. Serve as a positive role model for children, families, and volunteers. Encourage children and families in their faith journey. Qualifications A strong and growing Christian faith consistent with the beliefs and values of Faith Church. Passion for children's ministry and child development. Ability to lead, motivate, and develop volunteers. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Previous ministry, education, childcare, or leadership experience preferred. Ability to complete required background screening and child protection training. Performance Expectations Success in this role will be evaluated by: Effectiveness in preparing and leading weekly children's ministry programs. Recruitment, training, and retention of qualified volunteers. Quality of ministry experiences provided for children and families. Consistent communication and partnership with parents. Prompt and professional handling of ministry concerns and needs. Compliance with all volunteer screening and child safety procedures. Alignment with the vision and mission of Faith Church. Schedule & Compensation Compensation is provided and will be discussed during the interview process. Attendance is required for all Sunday and Wednesday services where children's ministry is offered. The position includes four Sundays of paid time off annually for vacation, personal leave, or illness. Cost-of-living and merit-based compensation reviews may be provided as church finances permit.
