Job Description

Position Summary The student minister will work to:
  • Lead students to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and to grow more like Him
  • Plan and coordinate ministries to students Middle School through High School
  • Encourage and equip parents of students
  • Develop a leadership structure among students and volunteers Duties and Responsibilities 1.
Leadership Focus:
Build, organize and provide coordination for these areas: a. Team of volunteers who will help carry out the ministry to students b. Parents and student influencers (coaches, teachers, older students) c. Leadership structure among the students 2. Develop student discipleship opportunities through Bible studies, speakers, etc. 3. Organize activities for the youth using available resources such as the lake, golf course, swimming pool, member homes, etc. 4. Lead students to participate in summer youth camp and similar special events 5. Counsel students/families as necessary 6. Participate in staff meetings and church functions as able 7. Work within the youth budget and church policies Qualifications 1. A deep personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior with a humble spirit and passion for Christian growth 2. An ability to communicate well with students and parents 3. Well-organized with the ability to develop student and volunteer leaders 4. Commitment to youth as evidenced through experience with them 5. Team player and flexibility in meeting ministry needs Reporting Relationship The student minister reports to the pastor and indirectly to the Board of Trustees Working Conditions/Classification The position is part-time (approximately 20 hours per week). The applicant must pass a background check. Could be more during summer months. Compensation & Benefits Pay is negotiable. Monthly range is $1,800-$2,500. Two weeks paid vacation, holidays.
