St. Luke Global Methodist Church is seeking a passionate, full-time Director of Youth Ministries to lead and grow a Christian discipleship program for students in grades 6-12. This is a mission-minded, GMC-rooted role focused on building genuine relationships with students, parents, volunteers, and church staff to help youth grow in their faith in Jesus Christ and their connection to the life of the church. St. Luke is a financially strong, growing congregation with an active Children's Ministry and a supportive committee prepared to invest in youth ministry for the long term. Key Responsibilities

• Plan and lead weekly Youth Hour gatherings (Wednesday and Sunday evenings) and Sunday youth programming.
• Support and coordinate Youth Sunday School and Confirmation classes and ceremonies.
• Plan and lead seasonal events, retreats, mission trips, and special activities for youth.
• Develop service and outreach opportunities that root students in the mission of the Global Methodist Church.
• Foster intergenerational connection between the youth and the broader St. Luke congregation.
• Recruit, train, supervise, and thank a team of volunteer leaders and Sunday school teachers.
• Communicate regularly and proactively with parents about programming, expectations, and student needs.
• Design lessons that are applicable, hands-on, and appropriate to the developmental range of grades 6-12.
• Empower students to help plan youth events and occasionally lead in worship.
• Coordinate fundraising to support youth experiences (mission trips, retreats, camps).
• Maintain a visible presence in students' lives beyond church walls — attending games, performances, and school events as schedule allows.
• Ensure all volunteers comply with Ministry Safe policies and complete required training and background checks.
• Assist with the Youth Ministry budget and attend applicable Administrative Council meetings.
• Arrive early and stay late as needed to ensure every student is safely picked up. Qualifications
• Personal Christian faith and a clear sense of call to youth ministry.
• Passion for mentoring and discipling students in grades 6-12.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills — both with students and with adult volunteers.
• Experience in youth ministry or Christian education preferred.
• Ability and willingness to be a team player with St. Luke's pastor and staff.
• Reflective, coachable, and willing to grow alongside the church.
• Willingness to work adjusted hours (evenings, weekends, occasional early mornings, and student events).
• Familiarity with the Global Methodist Church tradition and doctrine is a plus; candidates from outside the GMC background are welcomed and will be supported in developing that understanding after hire.
• Complete training and adhere to Ministry Safe policies (non-negotiable). St. Luke covers all costs of training and screening.
• Subject to criminal background check; a driving background check is required if transporting students.
• Minimum high school diploma required; post-secondary education preferred.

Compensation Salary range:

$36,000 - $44,000, commensurate with experience. Full-time position. St. Luke is committed to a competitive compensation package to attract and retain the right person for the long term. Accountability Reports to the Senior Pastor for day-to-day ministry direction. Works with the Staff-Parish Relations Committee (SPRC) for evaluation, goal setting, and annual review.
