Overview St. Peter's United Methodist Church in Katy, Texas, is seeking an energetic and passionate Director of Student Ministries to lead and inspire our youth community ministering to our 6th-12th-grade students. This vital role involves developing engaging programs, fostering spiritual growth, and mentoring students as they navigate their faith journeys. The ideal candidate will build relationships with youth, support them, and disciple them into a deeper relationship with Christ. This position is essential in shaping the future of our community's youth, providing them with the tools they need to thrive both personally and spiritually.

Responsibilities:

Design and implement engaging youth programs that promote spiritual development, leadership, and service opportunities. Provide mentorship and support youth through life challenges and personal growth. Run weekly programs for Sunday and Wednesday nights. Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers to ensure a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for all participants. Participate in campus and church-wide events. Collaborate with church staff and community organizations to expand outreach efforts and strengthen youth engagement initiatives. Attend weekly staff, campus-level, and age-level meetings. Offer guidance on social work topics relevant to youth development, including mental health awareness and bereavement support. Work closely with the Executive Director and West Campus Director to coordinate confirmation, curriculum for Sunday school, Midweek, Life Groups, and other student programming. Greet and visit with families on Sunday morning. Maintain administrative tasks such as reporting expenses.

Skills:

Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate both youth and adult volunteers. Excellent communication skills for effective outreach, counseling, and team collaboration. Experience in teaching or mentoring young people within a faith-based or educational setting. Strong event planning abilities to organize retreats, camps, and community service projects. Ability to work with children of diverse backgrounds while maintaining a safe environment. Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in theology, pastoral ministry, religious education, or related field required. Preferred minimum 1-3 years of experience in ministry or faith formation leadership

Pay:

$45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
