(Full-time, Exempt - Pastoral) Valley Bible Church (www.valleybiblechurch.org) is a growing, elder-led church in White River Junction, Vermont with approximately 230 weekly attendees. We are an evangelical, baptistic, complementarian church committed to making disciples through expository preaching and teaching, biblical community, and gospel-centered ministry. We are seeking a gifted Youth Pastor who desires to partner with volunteers and parents to develop a high-quality, Word-centered youth ministry program, to share in the wider ministry and shepherding of the church, and to oversee our children's ministries.

Purpose:

Advance the disciple-making mission of Valley Bible Church by leading and executing excellent discipleship ministries for youth and children, while sharing in the overall shepherding of the church. Position Summary The Pastor of Youth and Families will provide leadership to our youth ministry and support our children's ministry teams, intentionally partnering with parents to equip the next generation of Christ followers. He will recruit, train, and shepherd volunteer leaders, teach God's Word faithfully in our student ministries, and help students become fully engaged members of the wider church. This pastor serves under the oversight of the Elder Board and reports directly to the Executive Pastor. Primary Responsibilities Youth Ministry Leadership and Youth Discipleship (50%)

• Lead all aspects of the church's middle school and high school ministries.
• Teach God's Word in a clear, engaging, and biblically faithful manner.
• Plan regular youth gatherings, Bible studies, retreats, camps, and special events.
• Develop a discipleship pathway that moves students toward spiritual maturity.
• Encourage students to become active participants in the life of the church.
• Build relationships with students through intentional presence, mentoring, and pastoral care. General Pastoral Ministry (20%)
• Participate in the overall shepherding ministry of Valley Bible Church.
• Preaching (6-8 times per year) and other teaching as appropriate.
• Assist with regular worship service duties, pastoral care and visitation, baptisms, funerals, counseling, and other general pastoral duties as needed.
• Support the vision and direction established by the Senior Pastor and Elder Board.
• Serve collaboratively with the church staff to advance the mission of the church. Leadership of Children's Ministries (20%)
• Equip and encourage children's ministry volunteer teams for effective and enthusiastic ministry. (Sunday school, childcare, children's church, AWANA, Vacation Bible School)
• Foster a healthy volunteer culture characterized by humility, accountability, and joy.
• Create and oversee a unified discipleship strategy from childhood through graduation.
• Ensure all volunteers are properly screened, trained, and equipped. Shepherding of Families (10%)
• Support parents as the primary disciplers of their children, providing biblical resources and training that strengthen parents, marriages and families.
• Assist families in navigating spiritual, relational, and cultural challenges from a biblical worldview. Personal and Professional Qualifications
• Meets the biblical qualifications for an elder (1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9) Personal integrity and godly character.
• Proven experience leading youth ministry in a local church.
• Demonstrated ability to teach and apply Scripture in an engaging and effective manner.
• Ability to recruit, develop, and lead volunteers.
• Humility and teachability.
• Enthusiastic agreement with the doctrine, mission, and vision of Valley Bible Church. Commitment to become a member of Valley Bible Church.
• Bachelor's degree required; Master of Divinity or equivalent theological training preferred.
• A self-starter with excellent communication and organizational abilities.
• Successful completion of a background check required.

Compensation Salary and benefits are competitive and commensurate with education and ministry experience.
