Live-in teacher/counselor position at a therapeutic boarding school on the shoreline of CT. Ideal candidate has some teaching experience (certification a plus but not necessary) and an innate desire to make a positive impact. Residential teachers must have a BA/BS degree, reliability, flexibility, energy, and a willingness to be actively involved in students' lives throughout the residential day. Experience as a camp counselor, RA, teaching abroad or other lifestyle roles preferred. This is not a traditional classroom teaching position. Residential teachers live on campus (housing comes with job) and play an important role in the students' daily lives outside the classroom. The position is best suited to someone who enjoys working closely with teenagers, thrives in a structured residential environment, and is comfortable responding to the day-to-day challenges that come with working with adolescents who are experiencing significant struggles.
