Part-time Saturday and Sunday 12am - 8am, every other weekend Non-exempt Responsible for: Providing supervision to maintain a safe environment, implement structure in the shelter, model respect and understanding and assist the guests in reaching their goals. Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities required: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Social Work, Community Relations, Human Services, or similar arena. Excellent oral and written communication skills for working with both volunteers and guests. Proficiency in a variety of computer applications, specifically Google Workspace & internet applications Rapid comprehension and ability to quickly learn policies and procedures for a multi-faceted organization and compliance requirements for a variety of resources. Standard office activity associated with attending meetings within the organization and meeting external constituents, lifting objects in an office context, and ability to climb stairs or walk moderate distances. Extended periods of time working on the PC.
Summary of essential job functions:
Present a positive, professional image of Josephine's Place through interactions with guests, staff, other shelters, and social service providers. Completes intakes for new guests. Completes drug screens. Provide a secure and stable environment for all guests Provides crisis intervention. Implement structure in the shelter. Enforce established rules and policies while holding guests accountable for their actions. Offer support to guests in reaching weekly goals. Supervise guests to complete daily household chores in a thorough and timely manner. Monitor and record guest activities and behaviors. Teach life skills including preparing meals, budgeting/saving money, doing laundry and keeping the shelter clean. Teach time management throughout interactions with guests. Encourage and model positive conflict resolution techniques. Assist guests with meal planning. Ensure that food is prepared and stored in accordance with health and nutrition standards. Communicate with other staff about guest progress and concerns. Attend staff meetings and be a positive team member Complete required documentation with guests. Attend all required staff trainings.
