_PARAGRAPH JOB_DESCRIPTION.SHARE.HTML Saginaw, Michigan Clerical/Admin Support 7:30am-4:00pm Regular Full-Time Day Shift Respite Care - Howard Street 47869 Job Description Summary Under the supervision of the Respite Manager, the Resident Assistant performs participant duties and assists in maintaining a positive physical, social, and psychological environment for the participants while they are attending the respite programs. Responsible for assisting with implementation of daily activity schedule, daily documentation and following the plan of care consistent with participants preferences/capabilities/needs. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to transportation, assistance for community outings, meal preparation, ADL assistance, and providing 1:1 assistance to participants as needed. Responsibilities (40%)
  • Recreational activities (40%)
  • Community outings (10%)
  • ADL Assistance (10%)
  • Cleaning after activities
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Adheres to the abuse prevention program policies and procedures. Comes to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrates dependability and punctuality. Consistently works cooperatively with participants, participants� representatives, facility staff and ancillary service providers. Participates in department education as directed. MyMichigan Health is a technology driven organization and employees need to demonstrate competency in Microsoft Windows. Performs other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND SKILLS
Attends meetings/in-services as required. An employee may be required to participate in further learning opportunities offered by MyMichigan Health. Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, and the ability to speak, write, and understand the English language. Ability to relate with all ages and individuals with different cultural and spiritual backgrounds.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Exposure to stressful situations, including those involving public contact, as well as trauma, grief and death. Able to wear personal protective equipment that includes latex materials or appropriate substitute if required for your position. Is able to move freely about facility with or without an assisted device and must be able to perform the functions of the job as outlined in the job description. Overall vision and hearing is necessary with or without assisted device(s). Frequently required to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time. May require frequent postural changes such as stooping, kneeling or crouching. Some exposure to blood borne pathogens and other potentially infectious material. Must follow MyMichigan Health bloodborne pathogen and TB testing as required. Ability to handle multiple tasks, get along with others, work independently, regular and predictable attendance and ability to stay awake. Overall dexterity is required including handling, reaching, grasping, fingering and feeling. May require repetition of these movements on a regular to frequent basis.
