Job Description

Position Summary:
The Resident Assistant provides non-clinical resident support services to promote comfort, dignity, and independence. This role assists with daily living tasks, responds to resident needs, and supports nursing staff in maintaining a homelike environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist residents with non-care services such as transporting, passing water, delivering mail, and tidying rooms. Support dining services by passing food trays and stocking snack/beverage carts. Strip and make beds, distribute linens, and restock supplies in resident rooms. Respond promptly to call lights and service requests, alerting nursing staff as needed. Promote resident rights, dignity, and independence at all times. Support infection control and safety protocols. Skills & Competencies Compassionate, resident-centered mindset. Ability to assist with daily activities and respond to emergencies. Strong observation and communication skills. Teamwork and flexibility.
Required:
Ability to read and write in English. Must be at least 16 years of age.
Preferred:
Experience in long-term care or senior living environment. Physical & Work Requirements Standing/walking for 6 -7 hours per shift. Ability to lift 40 lbs and push carts and wheelchairs (80 -300 lbs with assistance). Exposure to resident care environment and possible challenging behaviors.
