Case Aide-Child Welfare- Parent Support Specialist Full-time & Part-Time Job Description:
Do you love to help people during their time of need? Do you have solid people skills and experience working with children and their families? This important position provides the opportunity for families to be reunited after developing healthy and positive relationship skills and habits cultivated during visits you will be supervising.
Job Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for supervising scheduled visitations between children (removed from their homes by the Arizona Department of Child Safety) and their parents. You will provide transportation for these children to and from the visits which will be held in a safe and secure environment. These visits may occur in the Casa D'Amore Family Care facility which provides inviting spaces for visits or may occur out in the community (according to the Arizona Department of Child Safety's Case Plan and guidelines for each family). During these visits, you are expected to model appropriate behavior (representing Casa D'Amore Family Care with integrity and maintaining professional standards of conduct and presentation) while observing and encouraging positive interactions and appropriate behaviors within the family in support of the case plan goals for family reunification. After each visit you will be responsible for: submitting a detailed visitation report; completing required invoicing; and completing all other necessary paperwork related to the duties of the position. Communication with the Arizona Department of Child Safety and the Agency Supervisor will be expected whenever questions arise or when there are immediate concerns. NOTE:
Final hire is dependent upon results of 5-year MVD report; clear Central Registry Background check; Level One Fingerprint Card; and references check.
Minimum Requirements:
Minimum requirements to obtain an entry level position with Casa D'Amore Family Care as a Parenting Time Family Support Specialist (Case Aide): At least 22 years of age Possess a valid Arizona driver's license that has not been suspended or revoked within the past 5 years from date of hire Own a safe and reliable vehicle with adequate heating and cooling to be used for transporting children for visitation that carries ADCS mandated insurance levels to include $100,000 injury per person/$300,000 injury per accident/$25,000 Personal Property Damage Insurance. Mileage is reimbursed. Must provide a Certified five-year driving record (Motor Vehicle Record Request) from date of hire May not have any DUI's or DWI's, no At-Fault Accidents, no more than two (2) moving violations, and no more than one (1) excessive speed violation within the past 5 years of date of hire. No more than six (6) point on driving record in the past 5 years No criminal violations in the past 5 years. BA in Social Services is preferred. At a minimum, a two-year Associate's degree and/or related work experience in the behavioral health or child-related field is required. One year's experience in the behavioral health field or a directly related field Be able to obtain a valid Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card through the Department of Public Safety Must pass the State of Arizona Central Registry Background Check Successful completion of state mandated training Have a clear pre-employment drug test as well as clear random biennial drug testing results; and submit to drug testing upon request. To ensure the safety of ADCS children, it is prohibited for all employees, including Medical Marijuana Cardholders, to use or be under the influence of marijuana. Although medical and recreational marijuana use is lawful in Arizona, ADCS must comply with all state and federal laws. Since federal law prohibits the use of marijuana, employees, contractors and sub-contractors are prohibited from consuming marijuana in any of its various forms. Possess basic computer skills and be able to complete and submit written reports using a specified computer program Be Red Cross or American Heart Association First Aid and CPR certified Complete a physical/medical release to fulfill all tasks associated with the position, including any health issues that may emerge Possess a personal phone for use in planning and managing the daily schedule adn communication related to case management, including access to email, internet adn online organizational management systems. Additional Responsibilities and Qualifications Complete on-boarding training as well as ongoing 15 hours of annual training to include state required training, as needed. Participate in staff meetings and agency developed trainings, including outside training Requires a flexible schedule and understanding that this position requires some weeknights and weekend scheduled work time for visits, as determined by referral or ADCS request. Supervise parent/child visits at the designated sites per agency and case guidelines. Assist family with appropriate activities, as well as model positive parenting and management skills. Observe and document all interactions between parent and child within 24 hours of visit or as requested. Ensure all records are maintained in compliance with federal/state/local regulations. Maintain record confidentiality according to state and agency requirements. Complete all paperwork according to designated due dates including, but not limited to, the following: Reporting and maintaining service case records of assigned referral visits Accurate and punctual time records related to case management Completion of CHILDS training and reporting, as requested by Supervisor Mileage logs Follow all guidelines related to time sensitive management of case including contacting the family, scheduling visits, pick-up and drop-offs and documentation of all processes related to the time management of the case. Immediately contact Supervisor or Administrator with urgent concerns or questions. Complete Unusual Incident Reports as required. Communicate with the Supervisor and ADCS Case Manager if any planned visit is a No Show or canceled by the parent. Maintain proper documentation of any changes/no show or cancelations as directed. Agree to be flexible in the position related to management of case referrals and planning of weekly schedule. This includes accepting responsibility to check schedule throughout the day and communicate any questions immediately. Parenting Time Family Support Specialists (Case Aides) may or may not be part of the scheduling process. Cases may be scheduled by the Supervisor and assigned to the Family Support Specialists. Be willing to manage varied responsibilities including just transportation requests, cases that require unusual locations and additional needs related to any case management of any cases relative to the Supervised Visitation Program Be pro-active and a problem solver. Maintain a team attitude and collaborative communication with all members of your team. Provide adequate notice if unable to fulfill your job duties. Last minute no shows for work may result in termination or disciplinary action. Follow an assigned work schedule relative to referral requests Demonstrate knowledge of accepted and safe parenting capacities related to servicing and interacting with the families you manage. Communicate effectively in speech and in writing Apply common sense understanding to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations Work cooperatively and courteously with staff, agencies, and family members Perform all duties in accordance with federal and state guidelines and organization policies and procedures Adhere to and maintain all ADCS standards and protocol related to service delivery Physical Requirements Significant amounts of walking, sitting, standing, and communication with children and adults involved in visitation cases may be necessary. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the functions of the position. While performing the duties of this position, the employee must be able to regularly talk and hear. Sitting, using hands, fingers and handling and feeing objects or using tools may be required. The employee may need to stand, walk, run or reach with arms. Lifting may be required up to 50 pounds. The employee may be required to drive for several miles at a time, dropping off and picking up children to/from multiple locations according to the schedule. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to high. Minimum Starting Salary Compensation is the starting rate of $19.80 per hour at a maximum rate of 4 hours per scheduled visit. Each case managed that requires longer visitation time will pay an additional $19.80 per hour for the additional required visitation time. The 4-hour maximum includes documentation, paperwork completion and all drive time associated with the visit. Training, case staffing or meetings outside of the visitation time is paid at $17.00 per hour and must be approved by the Supervisor. Employees will use their own vehicle and will be compensated for mileage at .545 cents per mile. For longer travel visits, company vehicles are available for use. Any PTO (Paid Time Off) not used by the end of the year will be paid as a bonus to the employee, with a potential of up to $700.00.

Terms of Employment Full Time:
Flexible scheduling ability required. Nights and weekends likely. Will cover up to 5 referral cases with a possible 40 hours per week of scheduled work time.
Part Time:
Flexible scheduling required. Nights and weekends likely. Will cover up to 3 referrals with a possible total of 25 to 40 hours per week of scheduled work time.
COVID Precautions:
At this time, a COVID vaccination is highly encouraged but not mandatory. Employees will be expected to practice disinfection routines required for the position in both their own vehicle or other vehicles used to transport children. In addition, disinfection is required when performing job duties in the office setting. Employees may be required to wear a mask while in the office or while performing job duties. In addition, it may be necessary to take temperatures and ask standard questions related to COVID symptoms or associations with individuals with symptoms of COVID.
