The Peer Recovery Coach serves as a mentor, advocate, and support person for individuals seeking recovery from substance use disorders. This position utilizes lived recovery experience to provide guidance, encouragement, and support while helping clients achieve their personal recovery goals. Duties and Responsibilities The Peer Recovery Coach utilizes their lived recovery experience to inspire hope, build recovery capital, and support individuals in achieving their personal recovery goals. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Model and promote the mission, vision, and ethical values of Biomed through peer recovery support services. Serve as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team, collaborating with clients and providers to support recovery goals. Assist clients in developing person-centered recovery plans and accessing community resources. Provide peer support services in individual and group settings, offering emotional, informational, and practical support. Support client engagement in treatment and recovery activities and provide crisis support as needed. Participate in weekly supervision meetings and ongoing professional development. Complete required documentation accurately and in a timely manner. Participate in ongoing internal and external training opportunities to maintain proficiency in current recovery support practices and industry standards. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Completion of CCAR Peer Recovery Coach Training . Minimum of one (1) years of continuous personal recovery from substance use disorder. Actively engaged in a personal recovery program, such as a 12-step, faith-based/spiritual, or other recognized recovery pathway. Valid Michigan Driver's License. Reliable transportation and proof of active automobile insurance. Employees are expected to participate in ongoing internal and external training opportunities to maintain proficiency in current recovery support practices and industry standards. Preferred Qualifications Certified Peer Recovery Mentor (CPRM) credential through the Michigan Certification Board for Addiction Professionals (MCBAP). Minimum of two (2) years of peer recovery, behavioral health, or related experience. Experience working with individuals affected by substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.
