Job Description

Program Director - Gang Reduction and Youth Development This is an in-person position About El Nido Family Centers For more than one hundred years, El Nido Family Centers has strengthened children and families through comprehensive, culturally responsive services that promote healthy development, family well-being, and resilient communities throughout Los Angeles County.
Position Summary:
The Program Director is responsible for the administrative leadership, management, program implementation, contract compliance, and casework supervision of the Gang Reduction Youth Development (GRYD) Program funded by the City of Los Angeles GRYD Office. The Program Director consults and collaborates with the Director of Programs regarding program implementation, contract compliance, program evaluation, budgets, staffing, service delivery, and overall program performance. The position ensures that program funds are used in accordance with contractual requirements and in a manner that optimizes services to youth and families. The Program Director supervises program staff and serves as the primary liaison to the City of Los Angeles and collaborates with partners for the Pacoima/Foothill GRYD Program.
Major Duties:
Provides overall leadership and day-to-day management of the GRYD Program to ensure effective service delivery, achievement of program objectives, and compliance with agency and contractual requirements. Performs managerial responsibilities including interviewing and hiring applicants; assigning and reviewing work; monitoring staff performance; conducting performance evaluations; providing coaching and corrective feedback; recommending salary adjustments; and recommending disciplinary action or termination when appropriate. Provides regular individual supervision to assigned staff, on a weekly basis, utilizing a reflective and supportive supervision approach. Formally evaluates staff performance through established agency processes, including review of case records, observation of service delivery, program performance data, and relevant feedback from clients and community partners. Ensures staff receive appropriate case consultation and supervision related to psychosocial, behavioral health, family, youth development, and other service-related needs. Conducts staff meetings and participates in meetings with collaborative partners to support coordination, communication, service quality, and smooth program operations. Coordinates program activities and collaboration across agency programs, departments, and service sites. Represents El Nido and the GRYD Program in the community; promotes the agency's mission, services, and community partnerships; and develops effective working relationships with public agencies, schools, community-based organizations, and other partners. Serves as a liaison with the City of Los Angeles GRYD Office, assigned schools, community agencies, and collaborative partners. Attends GRYD Strategy Team meetings and other required meetings to monitor program implementation, collaboration, performance, and contract compliance. Ensures accurate, complete, and timely program and client data are entered, maintained, reviewed, and submitted to funding and contracting sources in accordance with established requirements. Maintains working knowledge of the ETO data collection system and other required data platforms; runs reports, reviews and interprets program data, and uses information to monitor performance, service delivery, and program outcomes. Performs case file audits or reviews of case audit findings to ensure documentation of quality and compliance with GRYD, contractual, agency, and applicable regulatory requirements. Prepares and reviews reports regarding progress toward program objectives, service delivery, outcomes, contract requirements, and other reports as required. Collaborates with the Director of Programs in monitoring program budgets and expenditures to ensure funds are used appropriately, accurately tracked, and aligned with contractual and program requirements. Monitors program activities, service delivery, documentation, data, productivity, and expenditures and takes appropriate corrective action when performance or compliance concerns are identified. Identifies agency, community, or systemic barriers that may impede services to clients and families and develop or submit recommendations for resolution. Ensures parent, youth, and family group activities are delivered in accordance with GRYD model and contractual requirements. Represents El Nido at assigned community meetings, outreach activities, collaborative meetings, and community events. Participates in agency staff development and training activities and provides input on program and staff training needs. Participates in case management, supervisory, leadership, and other professional development activities as appropriate. Provides direct support during youth and family visits when needed and may temporarily manage or support case manager caseload responsibilities to ensure continuity of services. Supports community outreach activities designed to increase awareness of El Nido programs, strengthen partnerships, and broaden the agency's visibility in the community. Performs other job duties as required. Work Environment Work is performed in office, community, school, meetings, and other program related settings. The primary office environment is clean and comfortable and may include normal workplace conditions such as noise, interruptions, odors, or temperature variations. The position requires regular interaction with staff, clients, families, community partners, public agencies, and other stakeholders. Regular travel throughout the service area and other agencies or community locations is required. Evening and occasional weekend hours may be required. Position Requirements Master's degree in social work or related behavioral health, counseling, human services, or social services field Minimum of three years of case management, counseling, youth development, or related social service experience. Minimum three years of progressively responsible supervisory or management experience, preferably in a social services, behavioral health, youth development, or community-based environment. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Working knowledge of youth development, family systems, case management, community-based services, and social service delivery. Demonstrated understanding of family dynamics and restorative justice principles and frameworks. Demonstrated ability to supervise, coach, support, motivate, and develop staff while maintaining accountability for performance and program expectations. Strong organizational and management skills with the ability to oversee multiple priorities, deadlines, staff responsibilities, and contractual requirements. Ability to manage and monitor significant quantities of program and client data and ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely reporting. Ability to review, interpret, and utilize program data and reports to monitor service delivery, outcomes, compliance, and performance. Ability to monitor program expenses, track expenditures accurately, and support responsible management of contractual budgets. Demonstrated community engagement, partnership development, and interagency collaboration skills. Effective verbal, written, interpersonal, presentation, and professional communication skills. High proficiency with data management through standard workplace technology, including Microsoft 365 applications, electronic data systems, and program reporting platforms. Ability to learn and effectively utilize ETO and other agency, funder, or contract-required information systems. Ability to travel to agency sites, schools, community locations, client homes, and other locations for meetings and program activities. Ability work on a flexible schedule, including evenings and occasional weekends, based on program, client, and community needs. Valid California Driver License, proof of automobile insurance, and access to a reliable vehicle for business-related travel, including client and community visits, as required.
