Social Services About the Role We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Director of Social Services to lead and oversee social services and peer recovery support programming. This leadership position is responsible for program development, staff supervision, quality improvement, and ensuring the delivery of recovery-oriented, person-centered services. The ideal candidate will have strong behavioral health experience, proven leadership skills, and a passion for supporting individuals in recovery. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement departmental goals, objectives, policies, and procedures that align with organizational priorities and patient needs. Provide leadership and direction to peer support personnel while fostering teamwork, accountability, and professional growth. Supervise, mentor, and support peer support staff to ensure effective delivery of recovery-focused services. Oversee scheduling, performance evaluations, and professional development for the Peer Support team. Collaborate with clinical and medical leadership to integrate peer support services into treatment planning and care coordination. Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant documentation of peer interventions, progress, and outcomes. Develop and monitor programs that promote engagement, empowerment, and long-term recovery. Facilitate ongoing training and continuing education for peer support staff. Develop and oversee non-clinical recovery and support groups, family education sessions, and community reintegration activities. Build relationships with community organizations, recovery residences, mutual aid groups, and other community resources to support successful transitions and aftercare. Lead departmental meetings and represent Social Services and Peer Support initiatives in cross-functional activities. Participate in strategic planning and organization-wide initiatives focused on improving patient experience and outcomes. Monitor compliance with organizational policies, safety standards, quality requirements, and documentation expectations. Serve as a role model for recovery principles, professionalism, ethical conduct, and compassionate care. Qualifications & Skills Strong understanding of recovery-oriented care principles and behavioral health best practices. Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience, preferably overseeing peer support or recovery-focused programs. Excellent communication, coaching, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills. Ability to develop and implement programs, policies, and initiatives that improve service quality and outcomes. Strong program development, coordination, and evaluation skills. Excellent organizational and time-management abilities with the capacity to manage multiple priorities. Commitment to creating a positive, inclusive, empowering, and recovery-focused environment. Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and external community partners.
Education & Experience Required Education:
Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, Nursing, or a related behavioral health field.
Required Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in behavioral health or substance use treatment. Minimum of 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience. Licenses & Certifications LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) required. Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS) certification required. Additional Requirements Ability to meet applicable state and federal health clearance and regulatory requirements. This is a working Director role. The Director will be actively involved in the day-to-day operations of the department, including staff supervision, program development, patient and recovery support initiatives, team meetings, documentation oversight, and collaboration with clinical leadership and community partners. This position requires a hands-on leader who is comfortable balancing strategic responsibilities with direct involvement in departmental operations.
Pay:
Up to $130,000.00 per year
