$19.89•22.00/hour HopeWest is looking for a dedicated Volunteer Coordinator to help support our mission: Together, through creativity, volunteerism, and philanthropy we change the experiences of aging, illness, and grief•one family at a time. The selected candidate with be skilled in volunteer training, database management, and outreach; connecting support to the needs of our community.
JOB SUMMARY
The Volunteer Coordinator•Patient Care is responsible for coordinating and supporting patient care volunteer services throughout HopeWest's hospice, assisted living, and nursing home settings. This position recruits, trains, assigns, develops, and retains patient care volunteers while ensuring volunteers are appropriately matched to patient and family needs. The coordinator serves as the primary liaison between volunteers and interdisciplinary clinical teams, promotes volunteer utilization throughout the organization, and supports exceptional patient, family, and volunteer experiences through effective communication, education, and relationship management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Healthcare, Volunteer Management, Communications, or related field preferred. Experience Minimum of two years of experience coordinating volunteers, customer service, healthcare support, nonprofit operations, or related experience preferred. Experience working with volunteers, community organizations, or healthcare teams preferred. Licenses and Certifications Valid Colorado driver s license and reliable transportation with adequate automobile insurance
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills. Strong verbal and written communication abilities. Ability to build rapport with volunteers, patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to coordinate multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail. Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and volunteer management software. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment. Demonstrated conflict resolution and coaching skills. Commitment to HopeWest's mission and values.
