Job Description

Heritage Hospice is seeking a compassionate, organized, and dependable Volunteer Coordinator to manage and grow our hospice volunteer program. The Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for recruiting, interviewing, training, scheduling, and supporting hospice volunteers, while ensuring the program meets hospice regulatory requirements. This position works closely with patients, families, volunteers, and the interdisciplinary hospice team to match volunteers with appropriate patient and organizational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruit, screen, train, and retain hospice volunteers Coordinate volunteer assignments based on patient and family needs Maintain accurate volunteer records and required documentation Track volunteer hours and program participation Provide ongoing support and education to volunteers Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings as appropriate Assist with community outreach and volunteer recruitment activities Ensure compliance with Medicare/CMS hospice volunteer requirements We are looking for someone with strong communication and organizational skills, compassion for patients and families, and the ability to build meaningful relationships within the community. Hospice, healthcare, volunteer management, or community outreach experience is preferred.
