M-F 9-5, with nights and weekends as needed for trainings and events, etc. About Foundation 2 Crisis Services Foundation 2 Crisis Services is a mission-driven, non-profit organization that provides critical crisis intervention and prevention services across Iowa. We operate a 24/7 crisis center, including phone, text, and chat services. We also operate an emergency youth shelter, mental health support groups, community-based crisis programs, violence prevention, training, and more. We have been saving lives for over 50 years. Overview of the role Maintain a working knowledge of community social service, education, mental health, legal and vocational systems, as it relates to services required by clients and families. Coordinate, train and participate in, as appropriate, Custom Notifications and Call-In meetings as required for the Group Violence Intervention model. Includes logistics, communication, transportation, refreshments, arranging speakers, etc. Coordinate, lead and participate in Support and Outreach workgroups of collaborative members, including nonprofit agencies, community volunteers, law enforcement representatives, etc. Gather and track data on custom notifications, call-ins and community events; report data and trends to Foundation 2 and collaborative partners. Staff will provide monthly and yearly summaries, outcomes and reports. Assist with coordination of community events to promote social norms against violence. Includes logistics, communication, transportation, entertainment, refreshments, arranging speakers, etc. The typical work week is Monday- Friday 9-5 pm with some nights and weekends for neighborhood association meetings, trainings, presentations, community events, and others as scheduled.   • The annual salary is $38,000 - $40,000, plus our generous benefit package of $12,000 per year. Flexible benefit dollars can be used toward medical insurance and other benefits.   • Bachelor's degree in human services field.
  • And two (2) or more years' relevant experience.
  • Comfort using basic computer software.
  • Basic typing and data entry skills.
  • Valid driver's license and be insurable by the agency auto insurance policy.
  • Pass all background checks completed by Foundation 2 Crisis Services.
  • Live within 50 miles of Cedar Rapids, IA.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Experience working with and compassion for at-risk youth preferred.
  • Education or training in trauma-informed care is preferred.
  • Experience in strengths-based practices preferred.
  • Experience in conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques is preferred.
  • Ability to clearly communicate emotional support to people in crisis preferred.
